Strengths: Built like a tank, handles what you can give it without bottoming out, very asthetically pleasing
Weaknesses: none
Summary: 2005-01-06 09:24:34 I have owned many subs in my day: Velodyne, Definitive Technology, Cambridge Soundworks, Acoustic Research, etc. I have never been 100% happy with any of them. This sub by JBL is the exception. It outperforms all subs I have ever owned and looks better too. I bought two of these, one for the front of the room and one wired to the rear. Watching movies is indeed an experience. The output is tight, not boomy like many subs. I have yet to hear it bottom out. This sub is definitely a keeper and at the price, you can't beat it!

Strengths: PRICE(you can get it around $200 somthin' online), 550W max handling, tight & accurate bass, 12inch.
Weaknesses: Control panel is on the back and hard to reach!
Summary: 2006-02-27 20:25:30 I don't have any complaint about the sound quality but as I mentioned above, the control panel needs to be somewhere easy-reaching area like on top or something. This monster is pretty HEAVY and hard for me to tilt it to reach for the back control panel...but who cares?(I do...)

Since this sub is POWERFUL(250w RMS),some people worries that this might overpowers your room but you know what?? Almost any sub has a VOLUME CONTROL and all you have to do is just turn it down a little that's all.

Oh yeah, one thing this MONSTER amazes me is how ACCURATE & TIGHT sound it can produce EVEN IN LOW VOLUME LEVEL! A lot of sub woofers(include high ends) get muddy if you turn the bass way down...Not on this sub!

I would recommend this sub to anyone who wants a good quality sub but don't want to spend $1000.

In my(and experts) opinion for sub, BIGGER is BETTER, so forget the less expensive E150P(10inch)and go for this MONSTER E250(12inch) You will not be disappointed!

Strengths: Very Clean Low Bass.
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I love this sub; I actually use this sub in my studio. It gives you clean, crisp, low bass; on a very low budget.

Suggestions to get the best sound out of this sub:

*Try to place it near a wall, or even better a corner.

*Set the crossover correctly.

*Set the sub's volume a 1/8th a turn down from what you think it sounds good during set-up. (Once the sub is fully broken in, and you find the sub's volume is not enough, then turn it up)

Strengths: good value, sound blends well with existing speakers
Weaknesses: none detected
Summary: I purchased this unit to use with some large bookshelf speakers (KEF). I really bought it to use on movies but was pleasantly surprised at the effect on music. They add richness and warmth to all sorts of music CD's. It sounds like there is a grand piano sitting in my living room.

On the Hero DVD the soundtrack really comes alive, especially the Japanese drums.

Strengths: good frequency range for price, good power, not too big
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Never had a sub before. I enjoy music and always wanted speakers that covered the full audio range but never wanted to spend $800 - $1000 each for top notch speakers that would cleanly handle the range. A few years ago I purchased JBL L5's, really nice 4-way speakers, handling lows down to around 35Hz pretty well, but still had an itch for lower lows. Enter the E250P. This is a really nice sub that lets you adjust the low end crossover between the sub and your speakers, as well as how much output (how loud) you want from the sub. This allows you to balance the sub with your existing audio system, and if you want more, as I would imagine you might for a DVD movie, it will thunder for you without distortion. By separating a range of lows from the existing speakers, those speakers end up handling their input more efficiently, making for an all-round better system. This is a great addition to my system, and I'm sure it will be for you too. And..the cost is very reasonable.

Strengths: Great price, 250w amp, good size
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I bought this sub to upgrade from a 10in 100 watt sub I was using with a home theater package i bought last year and this JBL brought my system to life. The bass is deep and clear with no distortion and handles what ever I pump to it,music or movie soundtracks.I am now considering going with JBL speakers for the rest of my setup I am so impressed. As you can see the prices are great on these subs, so cheap for such a great product that I feel guilty at times....not

Strengths: Great sound. Easy setup.
Weaknesses: Keep the size in mind.
Summary: Great buy. My sound quality increased exponentially from my old 50W subwoofer. Surprisingly, the size of the speaker does not dominate the room. I would reccommend this subwoofer to anyone whose current subwoofer is not up to muster.

Strengths: Great Sound and Build Quality.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: This piece really completed my setup. With the crossover set at 150, the sound quality improved from the other speakers since they are not handling the high frequency sounds anymore which enables me to turn up the volume and still keep the crisp digital sound.

Strengths: Very solid bass without any distortion. Easy to setup.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I have a Bose system and the bass was just not enough especially when watch movies so I decided to add a sub. After shopping around to multiple sites, different brands, and stores, this is the best for the money. It makes watching movies a whole new experience.

Strengths: Great Sound. Awesome sub!
Weaknesses: None that I have found.
Summary: The first real sub that I have owned and I have absolutely no regrets. I have a stereo set up with two JBL E50 mains and it sounds great! The bass is strong and tight. Movies like Saving Private Ryan have a whole new meaning, and music comes alive! Make sure to place it in a corner if you want to get the most out of it. For just over $200, you cannot go wrong with this JBL.

Strengths: powerful, does not distort at high volume levels, quality sound and bass is tight.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Just bought the sub thru Stereo Advantage (Pricegrabber Store) and for the money (219.00 dollars) you can not beat

the deal I got. This sub produces accurate bass, deep, tight and very clean. It is well built, its not REAL heavy, but I don't care about that. I needed a powered sub to fill in the lack of bass I had with my system and boy.... did it ever.

In one hour I had my all my speakers blending in very nicely.

Nice rich bass you can feel. This sub is also very powerful. When I cranked up some music to a high level it handled it with NO problems = NO DISTORTION. I have heard better subs

but they are very high priced and the average american can not afford the best. I am a bit of a music and audio fanatic, but not an "audiophile". I was a musician growing up and played in bands and know good quality equiptment.

JBL has always had a reputation of great quality music equiptment and this subwoofer backs up their rep 100 percent. I have to say I recommend this to anyone with a good quality home theater system. I assure you that it will

enhance your music listening experience as well as watching you favorite action movies. Just a great product. I also have to mention that this sub sounds great at low levels also. JBL did good with this product making it afforable for the average consumer !!!!!!!!!

One last thing.... DO NOT buy this subwoofer from Best Buy

when you can buy this thru the internet sites for less than half the price they want for it (479.00 dollars). I also recieved my sub within 3 days of purchase and I am very happy !!!
