Strengths: Excellent color and contrast. Easy monitor pivot & height positioning. Quick switching between D-SUB & DVI-A/D inputs. Great value for a 21.3" monitor.
Weaknesses: The 4 ports of the built-in USB hub are difficult to access.
Summary: I have owned a pair of ViewSonic LCD monitors (18" VX800 & 19" VX900) for the last 4 years, and have been extremely happy with them. I have upgraded the smaller 18" monitor to this 21.3" VP2130b monitor. I wanted the 4:3 format provided by this monitor instead of the widescreen format that so many of today's monitors support. I would never have had enough desk space for a 21" CRT monitor, but this 21" LCD monitor fits on my desk with no problems. The image is very sharp with great contrast and color. And no dead pixels. The pushbutton switching between the input on the older VGA style D-SUB connector and input on the newer DVI connector allows me to use this monitor with 2 systems. Also, the included detachable stand allows easy pivoting & height adjustment. The monitor ships with both a DVI & VGA cable along with a USB cable to connect your computer to the 4 port USB hub built into the monitor. However, these USB ports are on the back of the monitor at a location that makes them hard to access on a daily basis. They are best used for USB devices that you keep connected or that you infrequently connect/disconnect. But I did not buy this monitor for its USB hub, but instead for its 1600 x 1200 resolution, 300-nit brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio display which I am very pleased with.
