Strengths: Widescreen, sharp clear picture, very bright and very good with contrasts of black.
Weaknesses: Side buttons are fine, but it will take some time to get used to their location.
Summary: 2006-05-08 14:52:28 I'm using this on a 6800le video card with only 128megs of video ram. I was worried at first how games would play at the native 1680x1050 resolution of this monitor, but now see games have no problems. I'm sure your cpu will affect it some also.
This monitor has a very sharp nice picture. And the widescreen is great for games, as it gives you more of a better view of the game in my opinion.
The monitors side buttons at least are real buttons, unlike some monitors using the stupid membrane type which I hate. The only drawback is they aren't labeled from the front, so you have to guess at them until you get to the point of remembering their position. But then again once I get it set where I like it I usually don't have to mess with it anymore. I had to turn down the brightness a lot, as it came set way too bright.
The viewing angle isn't great on this monitor, but its not really a big deal, as I am always sitting in front of the monitor, not off to the side.
Contrast colors of black are MUCH better than my previous monitor. I can actually see things in dark scenes in games now. I also have no backlight bleeding problems.
Mine did come with one stuck, very dark blue pixel that I can't even see unless I hunt for it up close to the monitor. And only can find it on a black screen.
I've been very happy with this monitor and am glad I bought it. The price has even dropped a lot since I bought it a couple months ago. If you purchase it from Newegg with a rebate, be careful to send it in very soon, as Neweggs rebate rules give you very little time to mail it in, and it starts from the date on the receipt.
Another plus worth mentioning is that the monitor has a 3 year parts and labor warranty, including the backlight.
