Strengths: Very vibrant colors and sharp text and graphics. Easy to prot around, unlike my 46 lb CRTs
Weaknesses: Even though it has a 2ms response there are RARE occasion I notice.
Summary: I am very impressed by the vibrance of the color on this lcd monitor. I'm used to using CRTs and it's a big change. For one the viewable are is actually 19" for the LCD and the CRT has 18" viewable. The difference is a very appearent one. As for the 2ms responce time, I've only noticed ghosting in one occasion of 1 game when something moves accross a white background at hight speeds, otherwise I cant tell the differnece in responce than my 19" CRT.

Strengths: Good Contrast, Attractive Design, Fast Response
Weaknesses: Weak Printed Documentation
Summary: 2006-07-23 06:36:09 Benq FP93GX on Nvidia GeForce FX5700 thru DVI.

(DVI cable included in the box)

This is my first LCD monitor. I shelved my old 17" CRT for this 19" LCD and what a difference! 700:1 contrast ratio, 2ms gtg response time, and price greatly influenced my decision to buy this monitor.

It's 1280X1024 native resolution gives much more desktop space for multiple windows. I did have to switch to large fonts and increase to size of desktop icons and turn on "Clear Type" fonts. I also turned down the brightness control from 90% to 75% and set the contrast at 50%.

The monitor's cabinet is sleek. It tilts easily and doesn't produce near the heat of the CRT. There is no height adjustment. Zero dead/stuck pixels!

My only complaint is that the control buttons for the OSD are black on a black case with black raised symbols. Nearly impossible for my old eyes to see which button is which without magnifying glass.

Over all, I recommend this monitor without reservation.

Strengths: Attractive design & Amazing pixel response time
Weaknesses: "Clunky" display options & Inability to display complete color palate
Summary: This is an amazingly attractive display. It is sleek in design and has an integrated wire management system. The monitor has both standard RGB inputs as well as a DVI port (and included DVI cable). Graphics displayed on this monitor are sharp and accurate, without a hint of the "ghosting" that plagues many LCD's. However, this picture sharpness comes at a cost: in order to improve the monitor's response time, it has been programmed with a limited color palate (it will not disply true 32-bit color). Is this noticeable... maybe. I believe it to be visable, but not enough to detract from my overall opinion of the monitor. Suffice it to say that the monitor would not be put to its best use as a movie watching screen, but makes one heck of a gaming monitor. The only other real complaint I have regarding the monitor is that I found the picture adjustment interface (brightness, contrast, etc.) to be a bit clunky. For those more forward-thinking than myself, I read a review of this monitor that stated that it will not (or rather does not) support whatever new copyright encryption standard that is being built into blu-ray discs and will therefore be incompatible with future systems. Last but not least, there is the general LCD gripe about dead/stuck pixels. My unit arrived with one stuck pixel (its always blue). The industry standard is that manufacturers do not replace a unit unless there are at least 8 pixels that are not working or working incorrectly. Despite this disappointment BenQ's overall warranty is quite comprehensive (3 years). This is definitely a product I recommend.

Strengths: Cheaper than competitors (VX922 mainly), great response, good color, no dead pixels
Weaknesses: still cannot match CRT response times, not perfect lighting uniformity (barely noticeable though)
Summary: Great monitor, great price.

However, let's get one thing straight: LCD's still cannot compete with CRT's in terms of response time. There is ghosting in high contrast situations- even these 2ms panels can't work miracles. But for most situations, it is pretty much nonexistant. Only when there is a light object on a very dark background (i.e.. white mouse cursor on black background) is there noticeable ghosting. That aside, it's a great monitor, good value, and nothing else to complain about.

Strengths: Simple (and Elegant IMO) looking, fast response (yeah, 2ms)
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This is a great monitor for all you need: web-browsing, TV-watching, gaming, you name it. I particularly like the appearance of this monitor: simple yet elegant...While 19" LCD price is falling like a rock as of July 06, I certainly not regret for paying $200+ for this baby...

Strengths: Superfast 2ms response, great colors, great price
Weaknesses: Sometimes the image is quite dark, limited adjustability
Summary: I got this monitor a month ago and am very happy with it. The colors are great. However, if you watch a dark scene on DVD, it might be difficult to see things. You can adjust the brightness, but it might be too bright after the movie is over.

Also, you can only tilt the screen back and forward. You cannot lower it.

In general, though, it is a great monitor. I would recommend it for the money.
