Strengths: Good price, Nice design, FM radio, strong reception, good clarity
Weaknesses: The screen could be better
Summary: 2007-03-07 17:12:37 I purchased this phone for around $30 and wasnt expecting much but I was very suprised with the phone. It looks very nice, fits well in my hand, performs the basic duties very well and you get some additional features like FM radio and speakephone. I use the speakerphone a lot and it is very loud and clear. I wish the screen has higher resolution but I cant complain with the price I paid for this phone. Overall, it is very recommended unit especially if you are looking for a back up.

Strengths: Cheap, Looks Good, Speakerphone, Excellent Battery Life, Nice Keypad
Weaknesses: Ill-designed navigation pad, Creaky Battery cover, very skimpy on ringtones (T-mobile)
Summary: 2007-01-05 00:11:00 I got this unit for T-Mobile after my Motorola went through my Washing machine and Dryer. The price was great - it is a T mobile to go Phone- you just slip in your old simcard and you're off. The phone looks great for an inexpensive phone. The build quailty is solid except for the flimsy battery cover. The battery life itself is excellent going for days without charging. The volume is loud and clear if you figure out how to raise it.(During a call press right or left on the pad) If that is still too low, you can put it on speakerphone, a welcome feature on such low priced model. The number buttons are raised and have a great feel. The navigation pad, however, is not designed so well. The middle button is hard to press while the directional pad is very easy. This, coupled with its small size, leads to many mistaken button presses. Reception was very good, and the calls were clear. The screen is a step up from previous low end nokias and the menus are well designed. (You can, in the T mobile version at least, change the lower right corner of the screen to most any function you want.) Polyphonic ringtones sound good, but if you expect the big selection that nokia usually gives you, think again. T-mobile includes just 5 and skimps on backgrounds and games too. You can download more of course for more $$$. Mp3 ringtones don't sound so good on this phone. The FM radio is very good. You do need a headset plugged in to use it( it serves as the antenna). There is no official 6030 data cable from Nokia, but you can find third party ones that let you connect to your computer with the proper software and sync, add media, etc. In summation, If you need quality basic calling capability this is a great phone for the price.

3 Star Reviewcute and simple little phone
Strengths: easy-to-press buttons, candy bar style, Nokia menus, no camera, no video, no iTunes, no Walkman, i.e. no useless gadgets, bright and easy-to-read screen
Weaknesses: slightly annoying "activation" process - Cingular's fault, slightly annoying phone number uplaod from previous phone, highly obnoxious Cingular logos and "Cingular Mall" thingie
Summary: 2007-01-17 09:04:53 I bought this phone because I needed quad band GSM - the ability to call any country, from any country - because I travel a couple of times a year. Of course, the stupid sales lady didn't realize that all GSM phones are not created equal. This is merely a dual band phone, working only in the USA and Canada (for the most part.) Is that my fault for choosing to shop in-person instead of over the internet? Ugh...

Anyway, to review the phone itself:

I did not want clamshell design (flip phone) or a camera, emailing, websurfing, etc. I escaped all that with this simple, easy-to-use phone. Yay!

I must say, I rather dislike the "Cingular Mall" button in the lower right of my screen all the time. Wastes of my time and money when the button is accidentally pressed. I will have to call Cingular and see about getting the function deactivated.

Also slightly annoying was that when I purchased this in-store I was told my phone had been activated but when I went to make my first call a few days later I had to go through a 5min menu to accept the terms of service. Which is dumb because I certainly couldn't read the TOS while on a phone call. Further, when I went to get a new voicemail, I had to waste 5min setting that up even though I was just switching from an old phone, not starting new service. Oh well, it's only once right? :)

And to the good stuff - small, light-weight, simple clean design. Buttons are tiny but easy to push without accidentally pushing others. (Unlike various Motorolas I've contended with.) And I prefer Nokia menus, even though they get more complex as the phones evolve. Maybe I'm just used to this brand, but I'm sold on it. Very pleased and would recommend for anyone who only needs talk and text capabilities in their mobile phone.

Strengths: nice looking, good speaker, good battery
Weaknesses: the body looks little bit flimsy
Summary: Got this phone as a replacement for my nokie 3650 and am very happy with the features. Only thing I miss is bluetooth and infrared capability. Not sure if it will withstand any drops on concrete surfaces as the body looks very flimsy. The up down left right buttons looks as if the are going to break if you press them hard. Overall quality is very good, I like the speaker volue.

Strengths: Easy to use and good reception
Weaknesses: Radio is a worthless feature. Feels light and made of cheap material
Summary: If you are looking for a basic phone just to make calls then the 6030 will not disappoint you. If you looking for features look elsewhere. I have used this phone for the last 2 months and it works great. No drop calls and good clear reception. The loudspeaker works great.

The radio function on this phone is a joke. You can't tune in to any stations with a clear sound. The phone response for opening different folders is sloooow.

Overall, if you are using this phone to make calls it does the job just fine. I would recommend it for those on a budget.

Strengths: good signal, compact size, look
Weaknesses: small buttons
Summary: I like the phone over all. this is a basic phone with speaker, which works well. the signal is moderately strong. It gets the job done. If you are looking a for a good basic phone this one is for you. If you have big hands like me, you might consider one with bigger keypads...

3 Star ReviewMixed Feelings
Strengths: Small, light weight, bright screen, loud speaker phone, good mic
Weaknesses: tiny keys, confusing menus, limited ring tones
Summary: I got this phone because I needed cheap prepaid and didn't want anything fancy. Overall I've been disappointed with the phone. Mostly with navigating the various menus. I'm pretty tech savy, but these menus are confusing and try to change some basic options proved to be difficult. Also this phones standard ringtone selection is terrible.

I knew when I bought this phone that the key were small. Its not a huge deal as I have small hands. If you are a guy with average sized hands or a girl with big hands this phone could be really frustrating.

The radio is a cool yet useless extra feature. I can't imagine a practical application for it especially because you need to have the ear piece plug in for it work. Amazingly the speakerphone work on the radio, but as soon as you pull the ear piece the radio stops working. And seeing as that I don't take the ear piece with me everywhere it seems kind of dumb to even have the feature.

Overall seeing I need a cheap cellphone with a cheap prepaid service(t-mobile) this phone will work, but if you plan to be using it all the time I'd probably buy something else.

Strengths: Call quality; button depression perfect
Weaknesses: Cell phone only
Summary: Working in environments where a camera phone is prohibited, a functional cell phone only criteria is often hard to match due to the proliferation of camera phones. However, with the introduction of this updated "entry level" phone from nokia, it combines the best essence of its core functions with a modern timeless style.

The first thing you notice about the nokia is its gap construction. Solid build quality and a heft that gives it a unisex appeal. If you are tired of miniscule cell phones that look more fitting in a purse, this phone should do well to abate that trend, which I like. The styling is so clean, which I can't emphasize enough. Everything is tapered, the lines are squared and rugged without an overbearing in your face design. It fits well in any environment.

Functionality-wise, the cell phone exceeds and performs the basic functions very well. Each call came in clear and the phone held on to RF signals with reckless abandon. You can even call out with the signal showing no bars.

All in all, great phone, cost/performance exceeds all other models out there presently. Great solid buy!

Strengths: Simple with basic features
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: The Nokia 6030 is the simplest of color display phones available. It has a very good look and is very small. The buttons on the keypad are easy to press and you cannot make any mistakes. The menus are the regular nokia and also has a 4-way key to navigate faster. I found the speaker phone to be very effective and loud enough to use in a car. The battery also lasts long upto a week.

Strengths: Good signal, small size
Weaknesses: low-end of Nikia phones, no camera
Summary: Nokia always makes phones with great signal reception ability in my opinion, including this 6030. This one can catch signal in my office where my previous Sony-Erricson just won't work. But this is a very basic phones, nothing fancy at all, such as, no camera. But I can live with it.
