Summary: 2006-07-12 04:16:21 I have had this machine for six weeks. I has run exceptionally slow from day one. Gateway, after 3-4 weeks of my complaining, finally replaced the hard drive, yet it did little. I can not work on more than two windows at a time. It will not complete or allow downloads from discs or web sites. It takes 5 minutes for the desk top to load. It takes up to 3 minutes to open a program, if the computer doesn't forget you wanted the program open. It can do about 30 wpm on note pad, which becomes bothersome when I can do about 70. Tech support is non excistent and wants to treat me like this is my first machine. You might want to take a nap when moving from the one window to the other, it's that slow. When working on machines in the late 80's, I knew what to expect, this machine is slower than those, and you can have two windows up in this machine, which is an advantage over the machines of the 80's, but like tose machines, you can only work on one window. I am in want of a replacement, but they argue I should stay with their trash, the DX210S, as they continue to pry into my business and ask me what I have loaded on my machine, what web sites I go to, etc. Just replace my machine, and now you know what web site I am going to.
