Strengths: High Power, built in crossover and EQ.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I purchased the DPX-301 to replace my Factory Mach 460 Head unit. This unit looks great in my Mach1, with just enough silver and chrome accents to match my cars interior.

It sounds much better even though I am only using the DPX-301's amp to power the tweeters in the system. This unit has a 3 band parametric as well as 5 band preset equalizer.Subwoofer output with phase switch is also built in, as well as many other high-end features.

These sound shaping tools and the crossover make a world of difference in the systems overall performance vs the stock head unit. I am very pleased with this purchase.

On a side note: This receiver will fit a 04Mustang with no modifications at all and a DOUBLE DIN KIT IS AVAILABLE contrary to what some people/retailers have stated.

Strengths: Perfect fit for DD opening in xB (with Metra trim kit). Sonically superior to OEM (Pioneer) HU. Two available AUX inputs on rear panel (1 AUX w/RCA, 1 AUX with purchase of inexpensive adapter).
Weaknesses: No front-panel AUX input. Menu controls non-intuitive. Instruction manual is one of the worst ever. Remote too big. Faceplate should say "Security code protected" to discourage thieves.
Summary: I bought this HU to replace the unimpressive Pioneer HU in my 2005 xB; I needed AUX connections for iPod and Sirius One receiver, and I wanted a double-din system. Choices of DD HUs are limited. I hit a home-run with the Kenwood DPX301. this unit fits PERFECTLY in the DD opening of my xB (www.scionlife.com/prof...). The sound is fantastic...I can hear little nuances in my music that I couldn't hear with the OEM HU. I wish there were a few more equilization settings, but there is a 'User' customizable one. The manual is horrible...you're pretty much on your own there. This is the low end of the Kenwood line; DPX501/701 are more cutomizable but are not hugely better sound-wise. Highly recommended.
