Strengths: very good quality build for the price
Weaknesses: you wanted a radio and you got a night light
Summary: Purchased $20 in December 2007. It is a model on its way out so the discounted price from suggested retail. However, you get good bang for your buck on this radio. It is well built metal and plastic. Buttons click true. The Digital display is large. Radio (am and fm) reception is fine. Has dual alarms meaning you can set two different times. Has an aux out meaning you can connect your mp3 if you want your own music. Has a rechargeable battery to allow maintenance of clock settings if power goes out. Battery also allows playing radio but I do not suggest that as the battery was not designed for that load. Looks good on a nightable. Display is bright but not all is perfect in life. Well worth the $20.

Strengths: Great sound, very affordable, easy to program, built in battery, ability to pull in stations is excellent.
Weaknesses: Not stereo, some find the display too bright, tho that is debatable.
Summary: Enjoyable radio, lots of fun to take to the beach, which i did the first day i got it. Played great and the sand didn't affect it. I would recommend this radio, especially based on its price and the amazing amount of bass sound it produces.

Strengths: Great Sound
Battery backup
Rechargable batteries
Good reception
Clean looks
Easy to program
2 alarm features
Can set separate volume for alarm
Weaknesses: As discussed before the LCD backlight is too bright for bedside use.
Summary: I have this radio as a bedside radio, and I love the 2 alarm settings, and the fact the alarm volume is separate from the operate volume, so it does not wake me up blaring. Its really easy to program. The radio reception I find very good with the included antenna, and the rechargeable battery works great for me. I hate how bright the backlight is, even tough it dims at night, it is more of a night lite, than a clock. Too bad its not adjustable. I will have to cover it with some dark film to get it suitable, or I may open it up and adjust the electronics. It would make a great kitchen radio also. I like the MPG input also.

Strengths: Decent tuner, better sound quality than it's size might lead you to expect
Weaknesses: Falters with weaker stations
Summary: These radios turned up on sale around Christmastime for less than $30 at several online vendors. Needed one for the garage and reviews seemed decent. I have not been disappointed. Gets the few stations that I usually want to hear, but like the other desktop radios I have tried, it can't work magic with the weaker ones. There are (much more expensive) radios, like the Receptor, that apparently excel at that, but it wasn't a need for me. Has more than enough volume for an average-sized room. I also like the techy look.

Strengths: compact, pretty good sound
Weaknesses: LED backlight does not dim
Summary: This is a pretty nice radio. While overpriced at the $150 or so they say is retail the value a $50 street price I paid is good.
Reception seems pretty strong. I haven't needed the built-in telescoping or aux antenna.
I'd buy it again.

Strengths: Design, good sound (bass and trevle), build quality, alarm feature.
Weaknesses: A bit weak radio signal reception, rechargable battery could be better.
Summary: I've purchased this radio attracted by the design. I was able to adjust bass and treble; given the size of the cabinet, sound quality was more than expected. Although many people complained about the bright display, it was not much a problem for me. Build quality is very good but the rechargeable battery doesn't hold that much. They could have made it better. Overall, this is a solid alarm clock having a great sound and features. I highly recommend this product.

Strengths: metal plastic cabinet, handle, rechargeable battery built in for portable play
Weaknesses: none for my usage
Summary: this is a great clock radio for the price. I needed a bedside radio and this fit the bill. Looks good and has all the functions I need. Good legible display ( bright but does not bother me). Manual tuning, good sized snooze bar, preset stations (scroll not buttons)and telescoping antenna. Also has an aux in for using your mp3 player. As well, comes with ac adapter and mp3 cables. Well worth it.

Strengths: Build quality, rechargeable battery, portable/handle, choice of antennas, full sound with bass/treble adjustments
Weaknesses: Display is too bright for some people but ok with us. Blinking/solid battery status led light?
Summary: I have purchased 3 of these because they have a solid feel and put out great sound for a small mono radio. It offers a dual digital alarm clock with radio/buzzer wakeup choice. A separate button to check on the alarm settings. FM reception is good with your choice of a telescopic or wire antenna. One button for 10 total presets for am/fm stations which you scroll through in one direction. Manual is simple and straight forward. It has a VERY bright battery status light which I covered with a round (hole punch) piece of vinyl tape, black or white depending on the color of your unit. The led blinks faster as the battery runs down and if you exhaust the battery you will have to reset all of your radio and alarm presets. The display is bright while radio listening and dims when radio is off. I would recommend this radio if you can find it for less than $40.00 like I did.

Strengths: Build Quality, Sound, Portability
Weaknesses: Mono, Display is too bright
Summary: Since the rollout of the Tivoli One, just about every electronics manufacturer has thrown its hat in the ring with a high end clock radio. Teac has a winner here if that is what you are looking for, with one caveat. I have used both the Tivoli and this radio and the Tivoli definitely sounds better. However Tivoli's portable model equivalent (the PAL) is now selling for four to ten times the price of the Teac. Also, this is digital, which is much easier to use if you jump around stations. I would not suggest you buy this as a clock radio--the display is just too bright. However for carrying around the house and popping in your MP3 player or listening to NPR or AM, this chunk of radio is highly recommended. I'm now buying my second to give as a gift.

Strengths: Digital Tuner, Aux. Input, Quality Construction, Nice Display, Reasonably Priced
Weaknesses: FM tuner not very sensitive, AM Tuner is Noisy, Annoying Flashing LED
Summary: This is a good quality AM/FM clock radio that can be purchased on sale for as little as $25. I found the FM tuner to be very quiet but not as sensitive as other inexpensive radios. The AM tuner was OK but a little on the noisy side. When I had enough signal to quiet the FM tuner, it delivered good quality mono sound. The look, quality and construction of the unit appears to be excellent. I like the controls and the bright display but dislike the bright flashing LED. The alarm functions work well and are well documented in the manual. Overall, I think this is a nice unit for $25 but I'm not sure I would pay significantly more.

Strengths: Solid construction, good sound, build in rechargeable batteries and aux input.
Weaknesses: Not so good radio reception, back light is too bright and it's not adjustable.
Summary: Overall I love this alarm clock, it will fit any bedroom. I take it to the park with me for radio or connect it to my mp3 player. To fix the bright LCD screen, I tint it two layers of gray film.

Strengths: Good tuner for a clock radio (which this truly is).
Portable with a huge handle.
Rechargeable, so it's a take-anywhere. You can even plug in your iPod or any other audio source.
Clear display.
Weaknesses: Mono. Yes, mono!
Really annoying LED and LCD display that is somewhat unreadable at a distance; you can't turn the light off. I had to cover it at night with a book, as it makes the whole room glow.
Summary: A great little home clock radio that was meant to go places. This is no cheapo hotel room clock radio that picks up only 2 stations. It's definitely built for guys, or at least the man's side of the bed, as it does have dual alarms. There's nothing "cute" about it. There's no faux wood or cutesy colors here. No myriad of menus... really easy to program and set. It's a serious-looking radio that appears like the offspring of a 1960's ham radio. Huge un-missable snooze button. Built-in Ni-MH rechargeable battery and carrying handle. This baby was made for travel, if only out to the porch. Pretty good sound, too, and a sensitive tuner. They even include the cable to plug into the earphone jack on your iPod or any mini-jacked audio source. Remember telescoping antennas? This baby has one, plus a pigtail antenna for indoor use. My only quibbles: a really bright LED on the top that shines on the ceiling and the LCD that actually gets brighter when the radio is on sleep timer. All in all, a great product, especially if you can get it under $50. White is also available, but that does not have this "classic" look or charm.
