Strengths: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 Hours Recording on ONE DVD, DVD+/-R/RW formats, Menu is SIMPLE! Region Free hack in 10 sec.
Weaknesses: Edit of Thumbnail; No play button on the unit (so you can't lose the remote control!!)
Summary: It is very simple to use. It plays most of my DivX and Xvid files, subtitle supported (*.srt format in English, assuming worked for Spanish...) For this part, it is worthy to own it.

Has 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 Hours Recording on ONE DVD, DVD+/-R/RW formats, Menu is very SIMPLE to do! The Thumbnail is limited by its first frame, no edit possibility.

No S-Video but it is OK for me. DV input in front panel. The build-in TV Tuner is in MONO mode so it is not good for your home theater - do not use TV tuner to record if you care! Bypass it to RCA jacks you will have stereo input and output.

Region free by remote, you can do it in 15 sec.

Nice to have 2 RCA jack sets input (one set front, one set rear). Hook VCR and you can kill the tapes!

By default the Timer (recording) will choose TV as default source, be very carefull to turn the TV or Speakers OFF if your TV Tuner is not hooked! You will have a heartache by the TV "no signal" noise.

No "Play" button on the unit. You need the Remote to do almost everything, but it is powerful. Recommended for the price!

Strengths: Easy to install Easy to operate
Weaknesses: If you forget to turn off the unit, it will not record a programed recording.
Summary: The recorder is easy to install and use. It is easy to program, and the quality of the video is excellent even at the six hour recording speed. I replay my recordings on a 62" HDTV and the picture is very good.
