3 Star ReviewThis could be the start of a beautiful friendship
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: Camera can be irritating
Summary: So I just jumped right into this game without reading the instruction manual, and I have to say I see a lot of promise.

I was slightly disappointed with the "Attract Mode"/Start Screen video, as it used in-game video instead of a rendered/CG.

However, the intro once you start a new game was sufficient to set the mood.

I have had this game for some time, but only recently got around to opening it up. I had my doubts about a game that has a J-Lo look-alike holding a murderous sword.

At the character select screen I realised this would be a "Gauntletesque" game, and I liked the thought.

Most of the buttons on the controller are used for changing weapons or magic, and combat at first is a simple affair.

I soon learned that you need to use the right thumbstick to direct you melee attacks, or risk ending up half a block away from the fight after flurry of attacks.

The tertiary weapons are really the fun part. Shotguns and uzis as you carve through a sea of deadites and werewolves.

Your skills improve as you use them, so use those edge abilities! The more you vaporize zombies, the more zombies you will be able to vaporize...

I wil probably try to get my hands on the original Hunter game, as I think this is a decent hack 'n slash game and wouldn't mind getting the back story, which seems like it might be more interesting than Redeemer's.

3 Star ReviewHunter the Reckoning: Redeemer
Strengths: Cool combos; character upgrades; solid animations; multiplayer
Weaknesses: Character balancing issues; confusing story line
Summary: Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer is the follow-up to the solid Hunter the Reckoning for XBox. While there have been many significant improvements over the first game, some issues still exist. For example, the bosses at the beginning of the game seem to be tougher to beat than the later ones. This leads to a rather unsatisfying experience on the whole. However, the most severely flawed aspect of this game is its story line. It seems as though the developers thought something up the last minute and threw it into the game just before shipping it out. The story in the game makes no sense and can be a major hindrance. Even with these problems, the game does have some significant improvements such as more elaborate combos, character upgrades, co-op play, and detailed animations. Overall, I'd recommend picking this game up if you are just looking for a fun co-op game without much thought put into the game's story. On the other hand, if you're a big fan of compelling story lines, you won't find much of that here.

3 Star ReviewHunter: The Reckoning - Reedemer (Xbox)
Strengths: 4-person co-op gameplay, enjoyable hack-and-slash action,
Weaknesses: Poor camera angle, can be quite difficult, no online play
Summary: Hunter: The Reckoning - Redeemer is a good horror-themed hack-and-slash game. Five playable characters are available, and up to 4 players can play at once. Each character has different abilities, and they work well as a team. Numerous choices of ranged weapons and magic are available.

The gameplay is pretty good, though the camera angle gets in the way more often than it should. Some parts are quite difficult, more-so than they should be due to the camera. Co-op play isn't online, though that's only a minor fault.

For the co-op play, it's worth a look.

3 Star ReviewPretty Good Game
Strengths: Good camera angles
Weaknesses: Game is very short
Summary: This is a good game for a hack/slash game. It follows right in line with Buffy and Legacy of Kain. The video game is very short. $20 is the most I would spend for this game, get it used.

Strengths: great hack and slash gameplay
Weaknesses: levels are too short
Summary: Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer is an excellent horror themed game for the Xbox. once again, the town of ashcroft is overrun by the forces of evil and must once again be cleansed by special individuals who have the innate gift and ability to see these demons and purge them from the face of the earth and send them back to the abyssmal realm that they came from. If you played the first Hunter game, this sequel is basically identical in terms of environment and gameplay, with the same hack and slashing of the infinitely spawning enemies. I myself like the simplistic gameplay of it because I find it as a great stress reliever. you have access to different types of weapons such as shotguns, machineguns, swords, and your own special magic attack called Edges. The same four characters from the first game also make a return along with the little girl that they rescued from the first game named Kaylie. She is actually, in my opinion, the best character to use because she is well-balanced in both her melee and distance weapon attacks and movement speed. One of the complaints that I have for this game is that I still can not zoom in close enough to see my character's detail as he fights the many enemies. This game has the same perspective as the Gauntlet games and similar gameplay also. The game and its levels are also too short and you also have the same "protect this innocent from getting killed" missions , which can be frustrating at times because the computer's AI is not as smart as it should be. You'll be screaming at the screen in bewilderment when you see the individual you are suppose to escort and keep safe instead run towards the attacking monsters and gets slaughtered. But what is great is that you can power up your characters and raise their combat attributes as you continue fighting, just like in an RPG. Also, there are many unlockables you can obtain which will allow you to play the game as different monsters, like the mighty giant Werewolves you encounter. Overall, this game is pretty fun; I highly recommend getting it.

Strengths: Four player co-op, lots of enemies to kill
Weaknesses: Bosses can be extremely difficult
Summary: Hunter The Reckoning: Redeemer is the second Hunter game on the Xbox. This game takes place a few years after the first game ended. The four original characters are back, but the girl that you saved from the first game is grown up and also a playable character this time around.

The gameplay is a lot of hacking and slashing with some ranged combat thrown in for good measure. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses along with a special edge power that is unique to the character. In addition to your primary weapons, you can find more powerful weapons for limited use in the levels.

The game has a small RPG element to it because as you use your melee attacks, ranged attacks, and edge powers, they will become more powerful.

The story is very linear and the levels are pretty sprawling. My only complaints with this game is that the normal enemies are too easy while the bosses are extremely difficult. You will go through levels not losing a life and then lose ten lives when you fight the boss. It's a little unbalanced in that regard.

Up to four people can play co-operatively though so this game makes for a good game to play with friends.

2 Star ReviewHunter the Reckoning: Redeemer (HRR) is a hack n s ...
Strengths: Its 4 player multi-player.
Weaknesses: Its not as good as the original and faulty camera system.
Summary: Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer (HRR) is a hack n slash game for XBOX. HRR is the sequel to the original Hunter the Reckoning (HR). In this version they add in a new playable character. The little girl from the first HR. The game plays similar to the first one, but the camera has changed for the worse. It zooms in too much some times to the point that you can't see where the enemies are coming from. Other than this flaw you are getting the same game as HR with slight upgrades on visuals.

If you played the first one give this game 2 stars, if you haven't played the first one give the game 3 stars.
