MS Saga
Strengths: Ability to customize mobile suit armor adds a unique element to RPG gameplay
Weaknesses: Otherwise, this game is fairly bland with poor graphics and uneven difficulty
Summary: MS Saga: A New Dawn is a Gundam-themed RPG game for the Playstation 2 console. You end up co-opting the very mobile suites (mechanized armor) that is responsible for wreaking havoc on the land. Each character has their own suit and you can do a great deal of customization of the pieces as you progress through the game. Combat is against similar mobile suit configurations and is turn-based. The variety of enemies is somewhat limited as they are mostly just variations of the same basic designs. That's about where the good points of this game, end, however. While the game is fundamentally solid, it is definitely lacking when compared to many other PS2 RPGs and looks downright outdated compared to later ones and those on the PS3 and 360. It also has an uneven difficulty - often veering from too easy to crushingly hard and back again with little reason. If you are a big fan of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime this game might be an interesting play as you can customize your suits and encounter many enemies from different parts of the Gundam series. For those just looking for a solid RPG title, look elsewhere.
