Strengths: Light-weight, thin and powerful CPU speed. Exceptional design by Sony is always favor of most of the customers.
Weaknesses: 15" size screen is a little bit lager, not for people prefer small and concise lappies. Easy got dirty because of the white color. Slower hard drive though (only 4200RPM).
Summary: Light-weighted, thin and large capacity of the hard drive(100GB). Un-beatable Sony BriteView of screen, and it has really good effect for the eyeball. Minimum heat felt by touching the bottom of the lappy.

I actually ran some complicated programs simultaneously, got normal performance which not bad for the cost. Noticed that the 4,200 RPM is somewhat slowing down the overall pefromance.

By and large, it is decent lappy although the lappy could be easily got dirty because of the light color.

Strengths: 1. Thin, light, and fancy. 2. Run pretty fast and few noices. 3. Sharp and bright Screen, pretty impresive.
Weaknesses: 1. Battery life is not long enough. Not more than 3 hours. 2. Not come with Webcam, romote, or wireless mouse.
Summary: I just got this laptop form OD for a good price. I cannot wait to using it. In general, this is a pretty good laptop, especially for boys. But it might be too big for girls. If the notebook has a buit-in webcam, it will be perfect. I only use this laptop to browse internet websites, to write email and paper, to download music, and watch DVD. However, I have not use this notebook to play game, particularly 3D games. I do not know whether the video card can support most 3D games. If you are not game fan, this computer is good enough for you. And I believe that if it cost you less than $1000, it is a good deal for you, especially you are a Sony fan.

Strengths: Style since it is a sony computer. Screen size and brightness.
Weaknesses: RAM. only 512.
Summary: It is a great laptop from Sony. as always very stlyish. Processor speed is good. Huge Hard drive and graphics card. the only weekness is RAM, for this type of processor and speed you may need to add more RAM. i added 512 RAM and now it much much faster.

Strengths: Great screen clarity, Thin and light, Strong, powerful compact computer at a good price.
Weaknesses: Some of Sony's software has a few kinks.
Summary: I work on different computers for a living and I could easily justify spending more since I purchased this computer when the duo processors were just being put on the shelf including the first line up of the AMD X2. The truth is I don't need more. It does what I ask and I have not yet found any limitations. I am not saying it is the ultimate gamer because it is not. What I am saying is it is more then enough computer for the every day user and some. In fact I think I'll take some advise and go clean up some of that factory software I don't use. I will say that the Vaio packaged software is great and worth the the learning curve.

Strengths: Sony quality, widescreen, big HD, DVD burner, thin and light
Weaknesses: Slightly older processor (not core duo)
Summary: I love this laptop; its thin and light yet 15.4" widescreen! The LCD is awesome, better than any other laptop I have seen. Hard drive is huge (100GB) and processor is fast enough for me, although these days many laptops have core duo processors which are better than centrino. I like Sony style and quality and price is about right. Don't like the white/light gray keyboard, gets dirty quick. Overall, a great laptop!

    3 Months
Strengths: Beautiful display, large hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner
Weaknesses: 512MB RAM, not duo core
Summary: I bought this laptop 3 months ago and have been very happy with it. The 15.4" XBRITE LCD is absolutely stunning! I've owned other Vaio laptops and for my money, Sony has the best displays. The 512MB RAM that comes with the laptop wasn't enough so I upgraded it to 1GB and it runs much faster. The 100GB is enough space for me, but I see other laptops with 120 or 160GB hard drives now. The only downside is that I used to have a Sony digital camera which used memory stick media cards, but now I have a Panasonic which uses secure digital so the media card reader slot is no longer of any use for me.

Strengths: good LCD, fast enough
Weaknesses: a little bit heavy, less memory installed
Summary: LCD is great. Much brighter than my friend's IBM T40. The view angle is almost 180 degree. But it only has 512 MB memory installed. I had to buy another 512 MB memory ($48 from fry's) to let it works smoothly in most situation.

Good laptop!!

    2 Weeks
Strengths: Quality of construction
Weaknesses: Too much pre-loaded software
Summary: I could not be happier after using this lappy for two weeks! Once you uninstall all the useless software this computer comes with, you can enjoy fast its performance. Case is sturdy metal, and nice white color sets it apart. The 100 GB hard drive is more than enough for my storage needs. Sony is known to make great laptops, and this is a perfect example!

Strengths: Intel Pentium M Processor, 15.4 in wide screen lcd with xbrite technology, dvd burner, 100gb hard drive, stylish design
Weaknesses: easily get dirty, expensive.
Summary: This laptop is consistent with Sony's history of giving us great products. This is a fast computer with Intel Pentium M Processor and loaded with features that most of us want or needed. It comes with a 15.4 inch wide screen LCD with xbrite technology that will make watching DVD movies more satisfying. The 100 GB hard drive is big enough to store your favorite music collection and some movies. You can also burn home movies using the built DVD writer. The built in wireless modem is great especially for mobile person. The sleek and stylish design is very attractive especially to the young ones. Just make sure that your hands are always clean before using it. It can easily get dirty because of its white color. If you don't mind porking out a little more money, this is a good choice. But if you are on a tight budget...better look for something else.

Strengths: Size, wide screen, light weight
Weaknesses: xp home
Summary: This is a great laptot. It has a very solid feel to it, much more so than the two other laptops I've owned (HP, and Compaq).

Battery life is about 3 hours when just surfing the web, which I feel is pretty decent for this size battery.

My only real complaint is it comes loaded with Windows XP Home Edition, I feel a laptop in this price range should have XP pro.

Strengths: Very powerful laptop with everything
Weaknesses: Keyboard is hard to type
Summary: This is a good laptop with a nice big screen with everything you need to get your work done. I got a really good deal on this laptop so there is not much of a complain. This laptop need more memory RAM because 512M is minimum requirement to run Win XP, but RAM is cheap nowadays. I love the Ultrabright screen and graphics. The keyboard is a little hard to type.

Strengths: Beautiful color with wide large screen
Weaknesses: Low battery capacity
Summary: This is a great computer i ever have, with widescreen. It is light, clear. The graph and sound card is good. Also, with DVD burner and 100gb hard drive, you can do almost all the thing a desktop can do.
