Strengths: Nice play, easy assembly, sounds good, excellent starter piano with 3 peddles
Weaknesses: Not many bells and whistles, but who cares
Summary: This quality item took about 45 minutes to assemble. I was relieved when I opened it up and it only had 14 screws for assembly. Sound quality is excellent, sounds like an acoustic. Looks nice, too. The finish is not that bad looking and it looks like a quality instrument.

Strengths: 88 Graded hammer action keys, suberb sound quality with full acoustic feel, 3pedals, beautiful woodgrain body,
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: I have been looking around for quite sometime to get a decent home digital piano with real acoustic touch and sound without breaking the bank. Then I saw the new ( came out in Feb 06) Yamaha YDP-213. It had all the features I want and none that would jack up the price. Most important qualities are AWM (advanced wave memory) tone generation, graded hammer-action keys which gives the same feel of an acoustic piano. It has 3 pedals (sostenuto, soft, damper). It also has some fundamental electronic features such as 6 instrument voices, metronome, voice recording, built-in music library with 50 songs (you also get the music sheets of theses songs and all of them are classsics), headphone and MIDI outs. The body is beautiful with woodgrain look, modesty panel and sliding key cover. Matching bench was also included.

Compared to other brands and even other Yamaha models, I think you'll get the most bang for the buck . Either for beginners or experiences players, it is an excellent choice.

Strengths: Good looking, Hammer Action, Song Bank
Weaknesses: Back panel not up to top, leave a hole; no USB connection
Summary: My daughter has used Casio CTK-573 for 6 years, that 61-key keyboard is too short for her now. We need an 88 key piano within our budget. After compared three brands, we picked Yamaha.I am not a piano player myself, but Crystal loves it. She said it feels the same as her teacher's "real" piano. She practiced about 2 hours yesterday night (usually we need to nail her down for 30 minutes practice). For me, I like the good looking, although it would be better if the back panel could be extended to top. Another pity is that it does not have USB output. I need to buy a MIDI-USB cable to communicate with computer. It had all the features as electric keyboard which Crystal is used to but the graded hammer-action keys which give the same feel of an acoustic piano. Of course the full size 88-key has extended Crystal's practice library. It would be a good company for Crystal before she goes to college 6 years later.

Strengths: Beautiful sound, nice weighted keys.
Weaknesses: Haven't found any.
Summary: This is a nice instrument.

My son and I put it together in no time.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other digital pianos, but this is what I wanted. If you want a piano to play the piano, this is bargain.

You have to follow a guide sheet to use most of the features as they are accessed through a series of buttons and keyboard keys. With use, I'm sure to learn the combinations without the guide.

Strengths: sound quality, weighted keys, assembly, decor
Weaknesses: none that i have found
Summary: The piano is very easy to assemble. It took my husband less than one hour. There were only 7 steps. It was light weight. My husband and I could easily carry it. The sound was great. It sounded like it was an acoustic piano. My husband said" wow, it sounds remarkably real". The feel of it is great with the weighted keys. It feels like you are playing an acoustic piano. You can hook the piano up to the computer to download songs. You can also record what you just played. The piano looks elegant. I would recommend to all friends and family.

3 Star Reviewrealistic digital
Strengths: Realistic touch. Bench included.
Weaknesses: Price higher than other brands. No other serious weaknesses.
Summary: The sound and the touch are all good and very realistic. The piano itself is portable. That means you don't have to bring it with a stand. Compared to the piano, the stand is very light. The sound is small but it's not a problem for practice and it is neither a problem for performance where PA is required. Easy to install (Within 1 hour including the bench.)

Strengths: Light,good sound
Weaknesses: no weaknesses
Summary: This piano is good because the key board on the piano sounds good. It sounds like a real piano ,and the whole piano is very clean and shiny. Traditional piano is very heavy, so that is why I buy digital piano this time.

Strengths: graded hammer keys, three pedals, easy set-up
Weaknesses: not super loud (could be a strength!)
Summary: This is a very decent piano for the price. Our daughter is taking piano lessons, and her teacher really advised us against a digital piano, but is very happy now that she has seen what we bought. The keys really do have the paino feel, and it has all three pedals which most pianos in this price range do not. It has a nice look to it - more than just a keyboard on a stand. We like the key cover; it slides very easily and protects the keys when not is use. The 6 voices are nice, as are the 50 preset songs. We haven't played much to try and record yet, but it is nice to have that option. The bench that comes with it is surprisingly sturdy. If you aren't looking for lots of bells and whistles, but rather a nice, basic digital piano with a good sound, this one is recommended by us!

Strengths: Easy assembly, Nice Play, feel like acoustic piano, Look Nice, very good piano for starter, Nice price.
Weaknesses: a little lower amplifier(6w), less voices (6).
Summary: I think it is a very digital piano for starter. It almost includes every function that a starter needs. When I tried to choose digital piano, I considered different models in his category. In this category, YDP223 is the top model. More function and better interface than YDP213, while almost double costs ($1600 vs $900). The second level is YDP323. This model has larger amp (20W), more voices(10), nicer look(whole wood) and higher price ($1200-$1300). So I think YDP213 is a very good digital piano with reasonable price.
