Strengths: Easy to mount with good instructions, universal mounting, customer service...
Weaknesses: none....
Summary: This is my second Peerless mounting system purchased this year. This model fits my 50" Panasonic Plasma just fine.

The unit I received did not look like the one in the illustration for the product description listed on PriceGrabber, but it was identical (yet larger) than the one I purchased for a smaller panel earlier this year. I feel that this is a non-issue, since the unit works as advertised.

The unit mounts a larger number of panels, as the unit comes with over 11 pages, front and back, that lists the various models that this unit fits. Along with this, it lists the exact parts that you'll need which are included in a pre-sorted, labeled, blister packaging.

I used the 'MountFinder' service on their website to check compatibility with my particular panel before purchasing this unit. I did call customer service to validate my results. They were easy to reach and answered my questions in a professional manner.

The instructions were straight forward, and with basic do-it-yourself skills, I was able to install this unit in less than 30 minutes. I would recommend the use of a stud finder to help determine the studs centerline. This enables a more durable hold to the board.

Finally, price. I feel, dollar for dollar, this unit is every bit as good as comparable models. I've been gradually mounting all my flat panels on the walls and when I first started, I used a model I purchased in a retail store. I felt that the mount seemed awfully expensive, but so was the panel I was mounting on the wall. When I was ready for my next mount, a friend referred me to the Peerless brand, so I gave them a try for nearly half the cost of my first mount. Let's just say that I haven't regretted the decision.

Strengths: easy installation security features solid build
Weaknesses: none
Summary: i found this very easy to install with my olevia 542i. took no time to get it on the wall and on the back of the tv. the extended security allen key is very easy to use. i like the extra security features and feel my tv is safe. i don't know if i would mount a tv this big on a wall without mounting to studs, but they were included. i am very happy with this purchase and will buy one again when i get another lcd.

3 Star ReviewPeerless ST660
Strengths: Nice looking and well hidden...
Weaknesses: Not user friendly!
Summary: After reviewing several wall mounts for my 52" LCD, I decided on this one primarily for the price. The product is OK but was a pain to install. This could be because it is my first LCD and wall mount that I've dealt with. We mounted the TV close to the mantle above the fire place and didn't have much room to tighten the screws.

Strengths: Clear Instructions, Solid Structure
Weaknesses: Doesn't Sit Properly
Summary: The mount is great. It isn't heavy, but is solid. It was easy to install. The brackets didn't sit all the way in the railing, though. Other than that, everything lined up. I like how the tv can be ofset from center of the bracket. This helps to center it on the wall, even if the bracket isn't. The security screws are nice to get, too. We bought ours at TV Mounts Plus.

Strengths: good instructions, comes with many screws for universal mounting, adjustable side to side mounting to center tv
Weaknesses: none that i can see, it just seems like all the mounts cost more than they should for just a piece of metal
Summary: 2007-03-12 17:25:18 very nice, looks very strong. i paid $80, looks like price range from $80 to $250. this just seems like a lot to pay for a piece of metal, but i guess I'd rather not let my new $2500 50" pioneer plasma hit the floor. plan on purchasing another when i get my 40" samsung lcd. it looks very sturdy, says it will hold up to 200 pounds. it's slide adjustable so if your studs don't line up with where you wanted to center your tv, you have some play. you just have to be sure to mount it at the height you want, no adjustment there other than the tilt. seems to me well thought out with good instruction. comes with a long pack of different mounting screws (tv to mount) so i think almost every set is covered. as i said, i plan to get another one so i must like it.

p.s. mine does not exactly match the picture shown, it doesn't have the rack for the tilt shown at either end of the picture, the adjustment is at the vertical brackets. the one in the picture might have been easier to adjust. i had read in other reviews that the changed the model, but it still functions well.
