 Cheap player with a big screen Strengths: Pretty cheap, Big screen (10"), Supports all standard DVD formats. Region free hackable.
Weaknesses: Reliability, 90 day warranty.
Summary: I have just been using this player for about 7 days now.
Works as expected with a swivel 10" screen. Image & sound clarity are comparable to another portable player i own.
Can be made region free by using the following procedure
1) Switch the machine on and open the disc tray with no dvd.
2) While it is open, punch in 6193 in the remote
3) This will bring up the hidden menu where you can set it to region 0 (region free) using the arrow keys and enter
The biggest complaint from other reviews seems to be its reliability. I can't comment on this yet as i have had this only for 7 days.

Nice player, questionable quality control.
Strengths: BIG screen. Swivel LCD. Light and slim.
Weaknesses: Kind of large. Questionable quality control.
Summary: I bought this player from FYE. The screen is nice and big and easy to see and you can even swivel the LCD around to turn it into a tablet-style player (wish there was a kick-stand when in this mode). The first one I got, the LCD screen would not turn on. I returned it to FYE and the 2nd one I got had a dead pixel on the LCD. Returned that too. Third time's a charm - this one works great.

Sometimes you get what you pay for
Strengths: Inexpensive
Weaknesses: Cheap
Summary: Ok, this player was the most inexpensive one I could find. The after rebate price was exceptional, and it does the job...BUT - I can't turn off the subtitles no matter what I do - tried the DVD menu, tried the player's setup menu. The subtitles are still on for every disc I play! UGH. Also, the motor makes a squeaking noise when spinning the disc. It isn't very loud, but it gets extremely annoying after about 15 minutes of hearing it. I'm torn on this one. I would recommend the player because of the price, but I wouldn't recommend it because of the quality. Tough call.

Cheap BIG screen portable DVD player
Strengths: pretty nice 10" screen.
Good DVD playback picture.
Sound is decent for such a small pair of speakers.
swivel screen, with a nice clip to lock the screen in position.
region free.
Weaknesses: The build quality is just so so.
Crappy remote.
Short battery life.
Not very impressive screen resolution.
No DivX support/media card support.
Summary: I've got this player at the local fye store, the last one. Upon opening the package, I noticed that the build quality is not very impressive, the plastic parts are not the top quality. I put in a DVD disc, it plays pretty well, decent picture, and switched to a MP3 disc, it automatically started playing the songs, and almost no initialize time, wow. Ok, here comes the problem: tried to use the remote to do some set up, crap, I have to repeat several times for the same key! I can't figure out how to make the remote work, just pure luck. I don't know if I've got a bad one or it is the design. The screen resolution is strange, 1440 * 234, haven't seen any thing like this. The battery life is only 2 hours, can't finish a long movie.

Strengths: large screen, good picture, good audio, swivel screen, comes with lots of accesories
Weaknesses: no volume on remote, picture is not perfect, some system noise
Summary: I conducted tons of research and hunting for a portable DVD player and bought this player mainly because it has a large screen for a great price. The picture quality is great although when you watch movies that are darker there are some fuzzy black splotches in the corners and in the shadows. However, this can easily be fixed by adjusting the LCD settings. In all of the reviews I had read on other players they always said that the built in speakers had low quality and headphones were necassary, however i found that this player's built in speakers had terrific sound. I like the swivel screen on this player and that it can be turned 180 degrees the folded back on the controls to make sort of a tablet or so you can put it in the headrest mount bag for hands free viewing. This player comes with tons of accesories including a remote, car charger, wall charger, headrest bag, and cables. My only complaints about this player is that there is no volume control on the remote and that system noise can be heard if you are holding the player on your lap.

 coby 10" dvd player Strengths: lots of acesories
Weaknesses: picture
Summary: I've ordered this product twice.Both times bad experience.First time it didn't work at all,second time the screen had a little holes (burned pixels).Very hard to watch specially at night.Overall i was very unhappy with this product.

Player with large screen
Strengths: Inexpensive, slim, large swivel screen, lots of extras included
Weaknesses: flimsy DVD cover, buzzing noise while playing, battery life, overall quality
Summary: I bought this at FYE (with huge mail-in rebate, yet to receive). Its a decent player with large swivel screen, good audio. It comes with lots of extras useful for traveling. But the quality is questionable. DVD cover is flimsy. It makes buzzing noise while playing. It froze multiple times while playing DVDs and photos. Battery life is not so good. Its not possible to change DVDs when its in mounting bag. If you are looking for an inexpensive player with occasional use - this product is okay. But I wouldn't recommend it for regular use.

Strengths: It's designed handy with good LCD quality
Weaknesses: some of its buttons are not user-friendly.
Summary: This dvd player can play dvd/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3/JPEG. The lcd can rotate 180 degree which comes in handy at times you don't have rotate the whole dvd player in a car. The LCD quality's good and speaker works great. The only drawback is not all its buttons are descriptive.
