Strengths: Fast Backup, recover files from dead computer.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I have used several brand of these, and love that I can put any HD in it and use it as a back up drive. Great for recovery of files from a dead computer. Need to change the jumper settings to Master. Need to use ATA/IDE drives, not compatible with SATA drives, yet.

Need to be careful to use proper power supply, as a notebook power supply at 18v will burn out this 12v device

Strengths: sleek case, easy to install a new hard drive
Weaknesses: none
Summary: this is a great case, and it's also very quiet. This was completely worth every penny. It works great, and the blue LED light blinks when its in use, unlike my last hard drive which i bought from simpletech.

Strengths: It's fast, compact and cheap. One great thing about this brand is that they are stackable.
Weaknesses: Runs on AC power.
Summary: This doesnt have all those annoying fancy lights like the other brands. It is also smaller than most HD enclosures out there. It's worth the price. I'm thinking of getting another one of these with firewire.

Strengths: Cheap, looks cool
Weaknesses: Gets pretty hot, Led light is annoying, but can be unplugged, not very fast transfer speed
Summary: I have a 120 gig WD hard drive that I wanted to hook up to my laptop. This device works well, but I am mainly using it for large files, and the speed I want is not possible with USB 2.0. I would reccommend getting a firewire if you need speed, but if you are not using it alot, this one will work. The other thing with the product is that it gets pretty hot. The files I have on there are not very important, so im not going to worry about it, but if you had important files, I would be cautious about using this. But for the money, this one works pretty well.
