Strengths: Easy to set up and used. Lots of songs in different languages.
Weaknesses: No HDMI connection. Not all songs including vocals.
Summary: Although with minor weakness, it's a great Karaoke package will keep the family and friends enjoyed. Ensure to get good microphones. The record of your own voice is a plus.

Strengths: good song selection, song books included, songs are searchable using player's menu, price good value
Weaknesses: only has vocals for Chinese songs, not easily upgradable for recent songs, graphics are repetitive
Summary: Great all-in-one machine, don't need to buy additional discs to start singing.
Good sound output using just the speakers from television.
Microphones shipped separately from karaoke player in my order.

Strengths: Good selections of songs. The player is very easy to setup and use, has wonderful sound quality. Good deal for the price.
Weaknesses: It would be better if more music can be added myself
Summary: 2008-06-08 09:57:40 I'm very happy with this product. It has huge selections of songs with plenty of them that I like! The player is very easy to setup and use, has wonderful sound quality and nice video background for lyric display. By the way, the 2 free microphones are not bad at all (although I cannot say they are great). In general, I think it's an excellent choice for home entertainment. I highly recommend it!

Strengths: variety of songs, low price, easy setup. compact, many features
Weaknesses: midi style music, limited selection of english songs
Summary: Overall a very good value for the price. I was pleasantly surprised to see how compact it was, not to mention very easy hook up and no set up needed...just plug in and sing. Also, the variety of songs is the best I have seen so far for this price, although it can use more english songs. But if you sing a lot of cantonese or mandarin songs, you won't be disappointed. Just don't expect the most recent top ten hits in there. Good for parties with the variety.

Weaknesses: The box is designed to target Chinese buyers. There's limited selections on other languages. All songs are not original. Too many repeats on the last of the part of some songs. No MIDI DVD upgrade

Overall, it's ok to just have fun with it. Hopefully, the future models will offer options of purchasing specific language songs.

Strengths: Lots of songs in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Easy to select songs and the selections can be queued. Great audio quality, Light weight.
Weaknesses: Could be better if it supports digital audio output for karaoke function. Do not have the option to customize the song library (can not delete or add).
Summary: Overall I like this machine, I only use it for Karaoke with my family and my friends. Have a lot of funs with it. You'd better buy a good microphone for it. I bought a pair wireless ones and works perfectly.

Malata MDVD-6838 DVD/ CDG Karaoke Player w/20k Songs, Good Enough
Strengths: Tons of songs, easy of use, compact
Weaknesses: Too many unnecessary song languages, old songs
Summary: Overall I would recommend it. It has some great songs, many options to choose from. Main thing I like about it is the Dance Music songs since I just learned ballroom dancing. It's terrific!

Strengths: variety of song choice. convenient to find a song. Great audio quality. Plays mpg4 and divx/xvid files.
Weaknesses: very few new songs, don't have the option to be upgraded in the future. Very limited video background.
Summary: 2006-09-03 11:07:32 I am quite satisfied with this machine. Although there are plenty of things to be improved, it gives a lot of fun, especially when a bunch of friends get together.
