Strengths: Low price for a burr grinder. Small size/capacity is great for someone who enjoys coffee, but doesn't brew more than a pot a day. Easy to clean.
Weaknesses: Not automatic. Some inconsistency in ground size.
Summary: This is a good low-budget burr grinder, but isn't as effective as higher priced burr grinders. Sometimes I find large grounds in the reservoir. Definitely worth the price though, especially when compared to some of the blade grinders out there. Buy this if you enjoy drinking a good cup of coffee every so often, but aren't a coffee connoisseur.

2 Star ReviewLooks great, performs poorly
Strengths: Looks nice.
Weaknesses: You have to keep pressing the switch to grind. The grinder jams up on dark roasted coffee and the burr is hard to remove once you grind dark roasted beans.
Summary: 2006-03-01 10:34:46 This is a great looking grinder, but if you like medium to dark roasted drip coffee, it's a poor choice because it jams up unless you clean it frequently with a small, fine brush that DeLonghi doesn't supply. You also have to hold down the button while it grinds and it takes a long time to grind. Look instead for a coffee grinder that has a timer knob and a knob you monetarily press, then the grinder grinds for say, 25 seconds. Maybe it won't look quite as nice, but if it's easier to use, easier to clean, and grinds just as well, who cares?

The top hopper is too small and is designed to look cool rather than hold even a single load of beans for a decent pot of strong coffee. Look for a grinder that can hold more beans in the top before they spill out due to the jaunty, cool, dumb angle of the top hopper.

3 Star ReviewDeLonghi Coffee Burr Grinder
Strengths: small, compact, grinds well with all 3 options (fine, medium, coarse), easy to use
Weaknesses: the seal on the recieving container is not tight so if you dont hold it tight while grinding, the grinder will spit out grounds all over your counter
Summary: this is a good grinder for the price....i would recommend it if you are skilled enough to hold the container tight while grinding to prevent spillage...i will try and line the top edge with something to get a more secure fit...hope this helps
