Strengths: COMPACT, EFFECIENT, NICE STYLE.
Weaknesses: THE COFFEE DOES NOT SEEM AS HOT AS I LIKE IT IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT'S MADE.
Summary: I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED A WHITE ONE BUT IT WASN'T AVAILABLE. EVENTHOU THERE IS A MESH FILTER, I USE A PAPER FILTER TO LESSEN THE SEDIMENT AT THE BOTTOME OF THE CUP. ALSO I WAS USE TO POURING WATER DIRECTLY INTO THE RESERVOIR WHICH HAD IT'S OWN WATER MARK INDICATER INSTEAD OF FIRST POURING INTO THE CARAFE. I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A KRUPS 4-CUP WHICH I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T MAKE ANYMORE.

Strengths: Low cost, ease of use & cleanup, permanent filter cuts waste
Weaknesses: None significant.
Summary: Pour in the water, add the grounds, flip the switch. That's all it takes to make a tasty cup of coffee with the DeLonghi DC-50. Nothing to learn. When done, rinse the permanent filter (conical shape makes coffee the same strength, no matter what size. Why doesn't every maker use this?), wash the pot and basket, turn it off and you're ready to do it again.

There's no way to adjust anything, and this is a plus with this machine, as the temperature is exactly right at 180 deg. I don' t want a timer, since I think leaving water in the tank makes it taste flat. Just pour it in when you want a cup or 4. It only takes about 5 minutes. And yes, you can pull the pot and get a cup before it's done.

The free Gevalia house blend sample tasted great!

Strengths: Price, easy to use and clean, permanent filter
Weaknesses: No watermark in the tank. Have to measure before pouring water
Summary: Plastic and assembly inside looks cheap but price is realy low.Works good, very simple. Not sure what "Shower Head Design" means, but that "head" is very small. My previous coffeemaker had same diameter with filter therefore water poured on all coffee in same time.
