Strengths: Sound quality.
Weaknesses: User interface not as intuitive as it could be.
Summary: 2007-01-15 11:47:31 Since I was very pleased with my previous JVC In-Dash system, I was eager to buy another one. This model is a step up from the entry-level model by offering MP3 playback capability. It is plenty loud enough and offers custom or preset sound settings. Playing MP3 files was a pleasure with excellent sound quality and full display of title/artist information from each track. The front panel/user interface is visually pleasing with its LED display - especially in the dark. However, its operation wasn't as intuitive as it ought to be. Programming radio stations was easy enough; however, in MP3 playback mode, I found navigating between folders difficult. I wasn't able to skip MP3 music folders without doing it one track at a time. There had to be an easier way but it wasn't clear. Setting the clock was also a bit of an adventure. There were no surprises with the installation - it fits in the standard slot for car audio. This unit offers all the features one would expect such as detachable face and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their standard factory stereo. I purchased mine from BestBuy for around $95.
