Strengths: size is very compact, ease to use, the quality comes out sharp!
Weaknesses: no optical zoom (a trade-off for an extream compact size of a digital cam.)
Summary: i just got the SD10 last week, and shipped at the right time the day b4 my trip.. everything else seems fabulous, and i can carry it everywhere w. me..
w. the price of $280+, it's worth and i m lovin' it!

Strengths: Take-everywhere portability, picture quality
Weaknesses: No optical zoom
Summary: If you're reading this, you already know this camera's main shortcoming - no optical zoom. With 4 Mp though, you can center-crop your pictures a fair amount and still have enough resolution left for a printable 4x6.
On the plus side: picture quality is really quite good, especially considering the tiny lens. Outdoor shots in natural light are crisp and remarkably well-exposed. Indoor shots are a little less sharp, but I will say the auto white-balance is better than my other digicams. The flash is adequate for anything under 5 or 6 feet. Since this camera will likely be used for plenty of indoor, night-time pictures (parties, etc), the user will need to keep this in mind. (Get to know your camera's limitations - with this one you need to use your feet to zoom, and if shooting indoor with flash, keep your subject about 4-6 feet away).
Battery life is fine - you can shoot all day. Start-up and focus lag times (in my mind the two most critical) are quick. The LCD is adequate even at the beach (important with no optical viewfinder).
Overall, a very impressive little camera. Unless your photographic standards are quite high, you will probably not be disappointed with it's performance. And yes, it's WAY cool.
By the way, I bought it from BuyDig (as I have my other four digicams/camcorders). Their prices are competitive, if not lowest, and they've yet to screw me with delayed shipping, pushy call-backs, etc. I just would suggest calling in your order, rather than placing it on the net.

Strengths: Compact, easy to use, excellent quality photos, quick response from shot to shot.
Weaknesses: Only that I'm afraid I might lose it!
Summary: This has been an excellent purchase. I shopped for a compact 4 megapixel camera for a couple months prior to settling on the SD10. I was initially a bit hesitant due to it not having a viewfinder or optical zoom. I trusted the other reviews I read on Pricegrabber and elsewhere and have not been disappointed. The LCD display is easy to use--even in direct sunlight. The digital zoom works well, with limited degradation of photos (assuming that you do not plan to enlarge significantly). It's extremely compact and gets looks wherever I take it. And everyone who has seen the results has been impressed.

Strengths: Real compact and portable.
Battery lasts long enough to operate a day.
Picture quality is pretty good.
Weaknesses: There is no viwfinder, but it's no major problem when you try a couple of shots by using LCD screen and get familiar with it.
Difficulties in focus.
Summary: 2004-01-15 14:17:21
I think it's a great for second camera if you have a SLR type film camera. Easy to carry and shot. Looks pretty and firm.
You can shot immediately after turning on (it may take less 1.5 seconds).
Images are good. Not much digital noise.
If you purchase large capacity memory card like 256mb then you can also take long movies.
Overall quality of the product is excellent.

Strengths: I love the sleek "smallness" of it; very easy to download images to computer; great travel camera because of its size; images are crisp and vivid; packs a lot of functions into one tiny package.
Weaknesses: User's guide that comes with camera is difficult to follow; icons on LCD screen are numerous and somewhat hard to interpret; rechargable battery runs out quickly.
Summary: This is my first digital camera purchase, and I'm more than satisfied with it. It's actually a gift for someone else, but I can't stop playing with it. There are so many cool little functions that impress me—like the stitch-assist panoramic photo option—but they take time to learn. The only confusing part of the Canon SD10 package is the directions on how to use it: I find the user's manual, combined with the very tiny icon interface, to be cumbersome to learn for a beginner like myself. Nonetheless, the sleek design of the camera is very attractive, and that, along with the 4.0 MP, makes it, oddly enough, somewhat addictive to use. You want to take this camera everywhere. I, for one, can't stop experimenting with it.

Strengths: Very COMPACT, sharp pictures, 4 megapixel, easy to use
Weaknesses: NO OPTICAL ZOOM!
Summary: I have been very happy with this camera so far, but miss the optical zoom quite a bit. Digital zoom is useless because the picture quality degrades so much. It's light and easy to use, which is great. The controls are nice for people who don't want to fool around with buttons and gadgets all day (like me). I guess you lose some control without all the manual controls, but I haven't noticed. It's just nice and easy.

Strengths: Great quality photos. Loaded with features and settings. Very compacted and light so you can take it anywhere. Easy to use. Movies are awesome quality. I would recommend this cemera to anyone.
Weaknesses: No view finder but with the clear LCD sreen you'd never use the view finder anyhow.
Summary: This is a great camera for anyone to use. I work in a digital photo lab and the quality of the prints are just as good as professional prints. The camera is tiny and can be taken anywhere with you. Highly recommended

Strengths: Small and portable, SD10 had excellent lasting bat. power and very good quality images.
Weaknesses: There are no view lense so you must use LCD screen to view images you are going to take. Under bright outside light, it was difficult to view what type of picture you are taking.
Summary: SD10 performed as it was advertised. I was very concerned about being able to capture the image on time because many digital cameras have delaid shuttle speed and the image couldn't be taken at the precise moment you want to take. There is slight delay by SD10 when it is trying to capture the image and do auto focus. Once SD10 is focused on the object, it will take instant image. The resolution of the captured pictures were excellent on the computer screen but I have yet to print it out on the photo printer.

Strengths: Size, Lightweight, Great looks, High Quality, Great flash,
Weaknesses: Stability, Red Eye reduction, 32mb sd card,Sd-cards are Pricy..
Summary: I've had the camera for approximately 2 weeks… and I love everything about the camera. I get compliments on it from everyone and it's extremely light weight.. I often forget that I have it in my pocket. For it’s size, the flash is very effective, and the pictures are of excellent quality!!
Unfortunately… My main dislike toward this camera also comes from the fact that the SD10 is very small and light. The camera sometimes moves slightly when you take the picture, which in turn blurs the picture. This has not been too much of a problem; I just have to remember to keep my hand still…when I’m taking the picture. Another disadvantage to the camera is the “Red Eye Reduction”… So far, I have yet to see it work.
But overall, I think this is a great camera for the size/price and with the possibilities out there with the SD-Cards (1GB card to be introduced in 2004), this camera is a great buy.

Strengths: Ultra-compact, easy to use, and (very;)) good photo quality (2272x1704 pix.).
Weaknesses: I am scared to loose it somewhere.
Summary: I've been using this camera for 6 months now and I think that I have taken about 1000 photos for that time.
I'm not disaponted to dont have an optical zoom or a viewfinder. The viewfinder of many Canon's little cameras have just a 80-90% coverage. When you have 3.9 million pixels, then you can crop in computer and you don't loose the quality.
I comment this camera to everyone who wont a very little camera...
PS: You can maybe not find this cam, try to buy SD20 then...
