Strengths: You'll see lots of cool stuff you might not have found otherwise. Easy to use - once you know how to use it.
Weaknesses: User manual poorly written, lacks pictures and other set up/troubleshooting information.
Summary: This is a great addition to your telescope, but the folks at Meade should have created a user manual that equals the product. When you are initially setting up your telescope - aligning the view finder and training the computer for the telescope's gears - make sure you set it up as accurately as possible. Even then, your initial star alignment (to tell the computer where the stars are) will be a little off. But, once you get it set up right, it works well and will let you see stuff you would have never seen by yourself. The guided tour is exceptionally cool. I was able to find the Andromeda and Whirlpool Galaxies the third night using this - where I couldn't find them before. But, if you are a beginning astronomer, the manual does a poor job of walking you through the issues that come up. Your own trial and error will help you before the manual does. Just learn to use this by yourself first before you are standing in a cold field at night with 5 friends and you can't get it to work.
