Worth Every Penny Strengths: Color, Style, Quality of rice, Weaknesses: Cook time for 3 cups is around 25 mins Summary: Excellent rice cooker. Rice comes out soft and tasty. Excess water collects in a separate cup and no mess around like cheap rice cookers. Easy clean as its a non-stick cooker. Old rice cooker was of aroma brand and looks like we will never go back to cheap brands again. Weaknesses: Some may consider the exterior style/finish to be a bit spartan or too modern. Summary: This rice cooker replaced a unit in use for a number of years with the exact specifications, but with the typical white with flowers motif so popular in Japan. We expected the same level of excellent performance with this model as with the previous and have found this to be the case so far. We chose this unit based on the fact that the brushed stainless steel and black finish would be a great match for the rest of the appliances used in our kitchen, since it is used so often and resides on the countertop. The retractable power cord is a nice feature. The only thing to note is that the included rice paddle is white. The previous one had a hole on top to release steam but that made it messy and sometime the rice used to come out. This cooker is clean and does not produce any mess. It cooks quickly and its steel appearance matches all other steel appliances at home. This is a large capacity for the price I paid.
