Strengths: Sound quality for the price range of $100-400 is excellent.They handle their rated power,+15% extra comfortably.They also have a lovely,non-standard matte grey/brown color. Excellent video shielding.
Weaknesses: None really,they could use a stronger bass response,however,I run a 10" velodyne subwoofer.so they do more than their share of bass response.standalone,they sound excellent.
Summary: The Athena line of speakers is excellent. For the pricegrabber pricing, I purchased the whole home theater setup. 2 center channels, and 2 floor standing speakers, and 2 AS-B1 surrounds. They sound clean. will handle up to a 20x18 room and look gorgeous. The only complaint, may be the price. They are a bit too much in retail stores like Best Buy or Fry's. They even have decent midbass response for bookshelf and floor standing in a home theater environment. The high frequency response is fine with the field of sound, for instance. in front of a tv watching home theater movies. these are an excellent idea.
Would I buy these again in the sub $1000 home theater catagory? Hell Yes.
