Weaknesses: Can be painful in sensitive areas, I always get ingrown hairs and after years of use it seems to be dull.
Summary: I was sick of shaving because my hair seemed to grow back that day and waxing myself is too messy and too expensive at the salon. I purchased this product about four years ago (wow! I didn't realize it was that long ago) and now I'm thinking about getting another one or a new one because I think it is just worn out. When I first started using it, it hurt a bit, but I have a pretty high pain tolerence. It never feels good, but I think after repeated use, the pain is less and/or you get used to it. It STILL hurts in sensitive areas after 4 years but the more you keep up with it, the less it will hurt.
The nice thing about this product is that it will remove your hair for a longer time than shaving will. I can go days/a week or two without using it again and it makes the hair more fine so you don't really notice that there is hair there in between uses.
The one thing it will NOT do is make your legs feel silky smooth like shaving does. That is the biggest downside I think, and I believe that has to do with the fact that you can rarely get all of the hairs on one try and I always get ingrown hairs that make my legs bumpy. I ususally spend a good hour doing both legs, (only the lower though because it is too painful for me to do upper) my underarms and my bikini area. I have tried to use it on my stomach because I have a small patch of hair but it is WAY too painful on that area as well (and I am an athlete so I have a very firm stomach).
The more taught you can pull your skin, the less pain you will feel. I love this product on my underarms because shaving them was ridiculous because there was always stubble. I can go for at least a week with this on my underarms, although I always end up with ingrown hairs despite exfoliating.
I haven't ever tried another epilator so that's why I'm giving this a satisfactory rating. It serves it's purpose for me and I am satisfied enough with the results to keep using it. I will say that I have gotten waxed numerous times in all areas and the only thing I would get waxed over using this product is my bikini line because it's just so difficult to reach on your own.
