Oster 4716 Egg Cooker

Now even I can make perfect eggs!

Strengths: Easy to use; doesn't take up much space; perfect results.

Weaknesses: None.

Summary: I'm probably the only southern Methodist woman on earth who can't make hard boiled eggs (necessary for the mandatory deviled egg dish!) However, this has all changed with my Oster Egg Cooker. Perfect results every time. I've also tried the soft boiled eggs and the poacher, and again the results are great. I've made a single egg - great results, and filled the egg cooker to capacity for deviled eggs for a party - again, perfect results. I did a happy dance when the egg cooker arrived, and it has lived up, in every way, to my very hopeful expectations.

Oster 8-Egg Cooker

Strengths: Light weight, easy to clean, cooks evenly

Weaknesses: Haven't found any yet

Summary: Replaced oster 8-egg cooker purchased in 1979. The original was used for hard-boiled eggs only; had thrown poacher component away years ago. Recently started eating poached eggs and decided to buy new. Couldn't find in stores so did internet search. New one is much easier to clean.

Oster 4716 Egg Cooker

Strengths: Easy to use, cooks and poaches excellent.

Weaknesses: None that I can find.

Summary: After a few tries you always get great results. If you cook less then 8 eggs put some more water than the usual.

It also does great job when poaching. Cleaning of the unit is very easy too. Overall I highly recommend this product.

Egg cooker

Strengths: EASY to use. Perfect eggs every time

Weaknesses: None that I have found

Summary: I have had our Oster Egg cooker for 30 years now. It was a wedding gift many years ago. At the time, I thought why would anyone need an egg cooker. I have used it several times a week for 30 years and it is still going. I am tempted to buy a new one because the teflon is worn off the egg poaching tray. It is the one item my daughter had to have when setting up her first apartment.

Egg Cooker works great!

Strengths: cooks perfect every time, easy to clean

Weaknesses: no alarm when eggs are done

Summary: This is my second egg cooker, the first being a Salton that finally just gave up. Some people may think why in the world would anyone want an egg cooker. Well, I am one of those people that can't boil an egg! I can cook plenty of other things, but I have not perfected the hard boiled egg the old-fashioned way. Using the Oster egg cooker allows me to make perfect hard boiled eggs every time. No more shells sticking to the egg, or unsightly "gray rings" on the yolks, or undercooked/overcooked eggs. They come out perfect every time. I cannot live without my Oster Egg Cooker.

Oster 4716 White Egg Cooker

Strengths: Has an Automatic Shut-off. Can hard-boil 8 eggs at one time. Has a self-contained water measure.

Weaknesses: None of the parts can be washed in the dishwasher.

Summary: I had a Sunbeam Egg Cooker for 38+ years, which I really liked, but the electrical connection got faulty (nothing lasts forever!). I looked for another Sunbeam, but it is no longer being made. This one is very similar. If it lasts as long as the Sunbeam did I won't need another one :^) ... but I would consider buying another one as a gift for my daughter.
