Strengths: n/a Weaknesses: Hidden Controls Summary: Jammed 3 days after delivery with only paper inside. Couldn't shut the SCREAMING thing off because buttons are on the inside and door wouldn't open. Thumbs down here! 100% of People (1/1) found this review helpful. rsbell1 Member Since: Aug 2009 View Member's: Reviews Product Experience: 2 Years	GE compactor is trash Strengths: Looks pretty Weaknesses: Multiple repairs, flimsy, expensive Summary: Our 2 year old GE Profile trash compactor required 4 service calls in the 2 year ownership and finally the motor gave out. So GE agreed to replace it with a new one for $450. This one is even worse. The handle does not fit flush to the door (it is the way it is designed). The opening mechanism is flimsy. toricole Member Since: Apr 2009 View Member's: Reviews Product Experience: 2 Years	GE Hidden Panel Compactor (white) Strengths: Looks good. Trust me, looks don't help you if it doesn't perform. Weaknesses: Very little compaction, does not have ability to keep plunger down (like my old Whirlpool did). Breaks down easily and repairs are expensive. Summary: SAVE YOUR MONEY!! What a piece of garbage. I've had it less than two years and the motor burn out. There are only two of us in the house, so it is not used much and we are careful not to put anything in that would harm it. I thought I had bought a quality product, since it is a GE. NEVER ASSUME and don't buy anything until reviews have come out on it. No reviews were out yet when we bought this. Hope this saves someone else from throwing away hundreds of dollars.
