Strengths: Smaller brush head (compared to previous models) battery life indicator. Really Cleans your Teeth 2 minute timer with 30 second pacer
Weaknesses: only comes with 1 brush head Battery cannot be replaced
Summary: I thought how on earth did they improve an already awesome product. they DID improve upon it. The major advancement was the smaller (more mouth friendly) brush head. Instead of having to "guess" how much charge remains, I now can look at the battery life indicator rather than have it completely drain on me at the worst times.

Strengths: Has a quality feel to it. Seems to do a very good job.
Weaknesses: None that I can identify so far.
Summary: I have a couple of good friends who are dentists. Neither of them is my personal dentist, because they aren't located close by. Both of them told me they can tell when a patient is using an ultrasonic toothbrush, because the difference it makes is clearly visible. They both said the Sonicare was their first choice.

After using the Sonicare, my teeth definitely feel cleaner. I found it only took me a few days to get used to the different brushing technique required. It wasn't cheap, but as far as I'm concerned my teeth are worth it!

Strengths: Good Construction
Weaknesses: Not enough brush heads. Extra features are not worth the extra money.
Summary: 2004-11-25 20:26:59 Don't waste your money on the 7500 or 7800. The 7300 has everything you'll ever use.

This toothbrush is a great product. I used to hate brushing my teeth because no matter how long I brushed, they always still felt dirty. With the sonicare, my teeth feel like I just came home from the dentist, and it only takes 2 minutes. The toothbrush has done wonders on my gums as well!

Strengths: clean feeling, easy to use, and great for the lazy..
Weaknesses: expensive, soso batery life
Summary: I got the sonicare powertooth after I saw lots of reviews. Almost 90%+ is positive, and I really love the gadget after I use it. I feel my tooth is more clean than before, and I can reach more detail in my mouth compared with the traditional tooth. Although it's expensive(the replace head is expensive, too), I think I still suggest everyone to get it...it's really good for your health, and tooth.

Strengths: easy to use comfortable auto timer setting for brush
Weaknesses: oerall cost replacement brush cost only one replacement brush included
Summary: This is an excellent electric toothbrush. It takes a little getting used to, but becomes quite comfortable to use within a week or so. The controls are very simple and the brush conveniently lets you know how much time you should spend in each section of your teeth by buzzing to let you know to move on. Only downside is the cost and the cost of replacement brushes. More than one brush should come included...

Strengths: ultra clean feeling, battery last longer than a week, easy to clean
Weaknesses: expensive, expensive replacement head
Summary: The Sonicare really does give that clean from the dentist feeling. My teeth feel very smooth and clean after using it. As well my last dentist visit was much quicker and I never have any "visible" plaque or tarter since I've started using the Sonicare. I've been using it about 1 months

As well I do think that my teeth look a little whiter.

I like the way it is automatically set to ensure you brush long enough - I can be a lazy brusher and I'm sure that I didn't always brush long enough in the past. With the Sonicare I know I'm getting in a full 2 and a half minutes!!

The manual says to expect that it may feel unpleasant or tingly at the start as it is so fast, but I didn’t find this. My gums did bleed a little the first few time I used the brush.

Strengths: It does clean well, which is it's primary job. Didn't cause any gum bleeding.
Weaknesses: Irritates the bottom of my mouth a bit. Pricey. Not very convenient travel-wise (i.e. bulky). Throws most of the toothpaste off if the first fraction of a second.
Summary: It works pretty much as advertised, with the strengths and weaknesses I already mentioned. What else do you want in a review? It's a toothbrush, not a book or a car.

Strengths: WOrks as advertised, you get a clean right-out-of-the-dentist office experience when done
Weaknesses: Super expensive, you wonder if $130 is really worth it for a toothbrush
Summary: I've used both the Braun OralB 3D Electric toothbrush and a normal toothbrush and the Philips blows both my previous brushes out of the water.

It does feel a bit strange after you use it the first couple of times. However, the 7500 has this feature which lets you gradually and gently bump up the settings each day until day 14 when the ultrasonic heads blast the gunk off your teeth at full speed.

The battery life is decent, it lasts 14 days between each charging.

One gripe: the brush is a bit expensive, at around $130 it will take quite a chunk out of your wallet. However, after using it for about a week, it seems that it's worth it and you get the clean-after-going-to-the-dentist feeling each time you use it.

Summary: I feel that I am getting a dentist cleaning every time I use my Sonicare. I should have gotten it a long time ago.

My gums which are very sensitive already feel stronger. Wonderful product.

Strengths: Cleans well, variable speed settings
Weaknesses: Noisy, single brush head included with unit
Summary: This is my first Sonicare (Sonicare 7500) and I will agree with the reviews that say these units clean teeth very well. It was recommended by my dentist to avoid enamel wear created by excessive scrubbing. I think this unit will help overtime, but I must emphasize that it is a powerful brush. At first it would cause some discomfort to my gums, even when holding the brush as directed in the manual. It does come pre-programmed to brush at lower speeds for the first 12 uses to allow your gums to adapt to the brushing. However, you can vary the speed and intensity of the brush at any time.

The unit has a non-replaceable battery that charges by a special unit. The charging unit has no plug in connectors, i.e. the base of the brush sits flat in the bottom of the charging unit. If you have children or pets who might be curious about the unit, it is easy to knock the brush over or at least move it out of position so it will not charge. Also when running, the hum of the brush is quite loud, especially in a quiet bathroom. I did not expect this, and when I was trying the unit in the dentist office, it did not seem that loud (maybe because of the background equipment noise).

Despite the noise, I think the unit is very good, and I would recommend purchasing.
