Strengths: Plug and play into home kit/car kit or boombox, favorite song search function, tons of preset buttons to add your favorite channels, built in FM transmitter.
Weaknesses: Dimmer function not all that convenient, a little large compared to other Sirius units, orange display not as desirable as white or blue
Summary: It looks like a basic plug and play Sirius receiver but it has many of the more advanced features that most of the second generation radios have -- category scroll, song scan, it is bundled with the mini antenna, and gets an excellent signal and has an fm transmitter if you don't have an AUX IN connection on your head unit. I am happy with the quality of the signal and the portability of the unit, it could be a little smaller, so it takes up less "dash space" but all in all an excellent value.

Strengths: Great sound, no commercails on music, works anywhere, Great programming
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I love the audiovox sirius satellite system. The music and other programming is great and it is so easy to hook up to your car and home sound system. To activate is a snap and the features of the audiovox blows me away. I think the the 30 presets and 20 song memory is so cool. That feature is great because when one of many favorite songs play all I have to do is hit the memo button and the audiovox unit remembers the song and when it plays on any other channel the audiovox unit tells you. Push the big knob and you go to your favorite song even before it starts. The display is easy to read and you change the size and style so easy. I have owned my unit for about 3 months and have traveled on two 700 mile trips and had no problems with reception. Hair nation channel 23 rules! I suggest getting a CD case or camera case to protect your receiver from the car and home transfer or vise versa.

Strengths: Ease of installation and setup. User controls intuitive and easy to work. FM Radio modulation built-in to unit
Weaknesses: None noted
Summary: I looked online at several different units and then visited several local retailers who sell both the Sirius and XM packages. Based on product programming, I opted for the Sirius package and then chose this receiver based on the recommendations of several users. I'm very please with it. The installation kit was very complete and easy enough for an average person to do themselves. The account set-up was very easy and the sound quality is GREAT. I'm still experimenting with many of the features, but the unit looks great in the car, removes easily and is a cinch to operate either with the wireless remote or via the buttons/knobs on the receiver. You have the option of using this unit as a car or home based unit and can move it between two different setups in just seconds. It's a must-have for anyone who spends any amount of time in their car.

Strengths: works when new
Weaknesses: bad design - receiver connectors break easily
Summary: I bought the Audiovox receiver. In less than 45 days the antenna connectors on the mobile unit began to snap off. The unit is supposed to be mobile between house and car.

I was very careful with the transfer because I was doubtful from the beginning when I saw the connectors.

Nevertheless the connectors snapped and well within the warranty period. Audiovox would not repair unless I paid them $80.00. Bad design and terrible customer service.

Do not waste your money. Try another manufacturer. I'm switching to XM and Sony.

Strengths: Nice looks, easy to use controls, comes with remote control
Weaknesses: Does not have scrolling stock ticker features like I have seen on other models.
Summary: Initally, I chose this model specifically because the display color matched the displays in my Mercedes Benz vehicle. I didnt want something glowing green when everything else is amber in color. Fortunetly, I made a great decision based on looks alone.

The audiovox SIRPNP2 is a great Sirius satellite radio tuner. It is very easy to use, the maual took 5 minutes to read and I was comfortable with operating it in minutes. I also like how it comes with a remote control which I give to my kids in the back seat if they want to change the channel.

I had this installed in my car using a prepaid "InstallCard" I purchased from crutchfield.com. Watching the installer install the unit, there was no way I could have done what he did (and I am no dummy to car electronics). I highly recommmend having a professional install this unit.

The only weakness I can see with this model is that it does not have scrolling stock ticker features like I have seen on other models. That would be a nice feature.

Overall a great model. Sirius sound quality is not as good as I thought it would be. It seems about equal or even subpar to free FM radio. However, this is the signal itself, so it does not have anything to do with the reciever.

Strengths: It works fine, no errors/crashes
Weaknesses: somewhat bad reception
Summary: It works perfectly. There have been no crashes since the purchase. The only problem that I have found with it is the fact that it doesn't get the greatest reception. Maybe that's just the antennae.
