Strengths: 4MP,3X optical zoom, video with sound, easy to use, easy to upload to computer
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I spent about a week researching several different cameras and thought I had my mind made up to buy a Canon A430. What swayed me to the Polaroid was the price. It has most of the same features as the Canon like MP and zoom, different settings for different light conditions but it doesn't offer sepia or black and white photos, something that I really didn't need anyway.

For my first digital camera, it has everything that I could want and is very easy to use. For the price, I just couldn't go wrong.

I think the Polaroids are inexpensive because they're made in China, not actually by Polaroid. They've licensed out their name to Chinese company. If you have issues with supporting this kind of thing, it may not be the camera for you but if you want something functional that takes great pictures, I'd suggest this camera.

2 Star Reviewso so camera
Strengths: price, zoom
Weaknesses: quality
Summary: Included software is not very good as compared to other cameras. Picture quality is just ok, not as rich as other camera I used. Only 4 mega pixels and don't take good low light photos.

Strengths: small, good picture quality, cheap
Weaknesses: low pixel, small screen
Summary: This camera has been out for long enough that it is now sold at a heavily discounted price at some places. If you can find one that cost below $60, this will be the cheapest name brand camera with 3x optical zoom. Picture quality is good but compared to the 10mega pixels out there, it is a very low resolution camera.

If you need an entry level camera with zoom, this is the one to get.

Strengths: Good picture quality, ultra portable, fast response, long battery life.
Weaknesses: Smaller LCD
Summary: Compared with Sony Cybershot DSC-S90, Nikon Coolpix 4600 and Fuji Finepix F440, it's over all better performance and price. The software is not that great , but its OK

Strengths: It's compact. The features are easy to use and it will take a lot of abuse: being knocked around, adverse temperatures.
Weaknesses: Small viewscreen. This camera doesn't take "action" shots very well
Summary: I bought this camera in March of 2006 and have been using it constantly for two years. It survived a year of me living in Asia and to date I've taken 5000 pictures with it. It's east to carry and store and for the money it's a great little starter camera!
