csudell Member Since: Nov 2007 View Member's: Reviews	Get 'em started early Strengths: teaches children about the differences in the types of money (coins, dollars, credit card). encourages creativity and role playing. Weaknesses: coins can get stuck. Summary: this was for my 3 year old but my six year old loves it just as much. considering they always see mommy using her credit card (and rarely cash or coins) it is great for them to experience what shopping with money is like. I have role played with them and set prices for things and they get a star/prize/etc when they get the amounts right. If you buy this toy when your child is still a toddler, you'd be smart to put the money away because the coins are a choking hazard and the bills will surely get ruined. For an older child, this cash register definitely encourages pretend play. However, it is a bit expensive, and I can't say that a cheaper cash register wouldn't be as much fun.
