2 Star ReviewNot worth it...
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: We recieved this dvd player as a gift for our children. It seemed great at first, but now 6 months later we have had problems with the battery not working even while it is plugged in the outlet in the van. The speakers are not that great unless you use headphones. The carrying case is junk. It is soft material and over time it stretches to the point that the player sags in it when we have it strapped to the backseat. You cant see the top of the screen because it is sagging so much in the case. I have been trying to find a new case with no such luck. I think that having a hard plastic case would be better. There are so many portable players to choose from that I feel this one is not worth the money.

1 Star ReviewCompletely unreliable, but good when it works
Strengths: Good DVD playback, nice controls, good battery life
Weaknesses: Motors burn out easily, sometimes failing right out of the box
Summary: This seems like a good idea at first, and was really quite a bargain before Craig raised the price 70 USD. (They no longer offer it, and no wonder. I got the first one at a 25% discount off the original price, because of a holiday sale, which reduced the sting somewhat, but read on.) It had decent speakers, a great screen, and was good for road trips or visits to relatives who didn't have TVs in the spare kid's room. Where it falls down is this: the drive motor for the DVD spindle isn't reliable. I've bought two of these, and the first one burned out after four months. The second one (bought at the new, inflated price) was dead right out of the box.

A rep from the retailer where I purchased the second unit told me they'd had a lot of returns on it, and my investigations have shown that the unit, overall, wasn't a success. You might find some remaindered at various retail depots, and I suggest you stay away from this particular unit. It's just not worth the trouble, even at the original price.

1 Star ReviewJunk
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: Doesn't work
Summary: Bought one in January, used it for 1 trip. Went to pull it out for another trip in April and it's dead. Exchanged it for a new one. Tested it but never used it for any length of time then. 3 months later try to use it again for our current trip and now this one is dead too. It's a piece of crap.
