Strengths: Large LCD display, graphic icons for easy viewing, sturdy housing, compatibility with many different Oregon Scientific thermo sensor units
Weaknesses: changing time zone is a pain, no humidity reading
Summary: We had our original unit for years and never had a problem. Actually never changed batteries either in over 3 years! Our outdoor thermo sensor unit is what went and in order to get a new one, we recently wound up just buying a whole new set of the main unit with 2 thermo sensors -- it was a huge bargain! The display is easy to decipher and understand. Changing the timezone is not an obvious operation -- it's not on the faceplate buttons, it's on the back under the panel that looks like it shouldn't move (it's where the battery compartment is located). It's shortest-coming is the lack of a humidity reading. We're in FL so the humidity is almost more important than the temperature reading. But for the price, this unit is wonderful and gives enough information to be useful. Its styling is very clean and it fits into our decor without standing out like a sore thumb.
