Strengths: Solid build quality, cool design, excellent voice recognition dialing
Weaknesses: Lame 0.3MP camera, PC sync software is extra (50USD), weak games, no MP3 player
Summary: The PEBL has a great design with a rubberized exterior and rounded edges, with no external antenna poking out. The phone feels much more solid (but heavier) than the RAZR (which feels flimsy) and definitely is built better than most flip phones.

The external display is functional - shows the time and caller id, but nothing fancy. The internal display is much better - larger and in color (but not as large as the RAZR).

Like the RAZR, the PEBL doesn't include PC sync software and cables, which most other manufacturers include. Instead, Motorola charges $50 for a mini-USB cable and Motorola PhoneTools, which basically allows you to sync the phone with your Outlook contacts. Otherwise, the software is completely worthless.

The mini-USB plug the phone uses for charging and/or wired headset is nice, as I can use the same mini-USB cable that my digital camera uses to charge/sync with my phone.

Bluetooth works well. Can use voice dialing without opening the phone. Voice recognition allows you to read the phonebook entry's name without first 'training' the phone or recording a voice tag for each entry.

Reception appears decent. Much better than the Samsung T809 that it replaces.

The 0.3MP camera on the phone is pretty weak (same res as RAZR), especially for a phone with an MSRP around $499. No external storage (miniSD, etc.) limits the space to 5MB. And no MP3 player.
