Strengths: Ease of installation. Simple directions. Quiet operation.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: I purchased this 1/2 HP to replace a sears kenmore model that lasted about 5 years. I went the a local hardware store prior to purchase, and decided the 1/2 would be OK for us as we use it occasionally, and we are pretty paticular about what goes through ours. I was told many of the disposals on the market are made by the same few companies, and the salesperson was right. This Kitcheaid looks different only by the plastic housing and color. The main unit looked as it was manufactured on the same assembly line - same stamp marks, size, wiring location, etc. The sink collar/mount is universal- the directions say they are interchangable. For the price we are very happy. However, I now have the expectation it may only last 5 years like my old one.

Strengths: Quiet, name brand, vibration free
Weaknesses: Could have been more powerful, but this is not bad either.
Summary: I bought it to replace a waste King disposer that I had. The bracket was different, but the height of the drain port was the same as the old model so I did not have to adjust the plumbing at all. The entire installation took about 2 hours from start to finish. The product works great.

Strengths: The directions are very easy to follow, read them all first before you start.
Weaknesses: It sounds a little louder than the old one, maybe not as smooth.
Summary: We replaced our KitchenAid disposer that we purchased in 1991 (it started to hum) with this one. It is basically the same as the old one and it took about 2 hours to replace it. First we turned off the breaker to the disposer. We had to detach the old electric line and reattach it to the new disposer. Since we replaced our old disposer we didn't need to use the flange. It works fine!

Strengths: Original lasted 17 years; replaced with same model. It's easy to install by a nonprofessional. I don't run bones or banana peels through it, but it handles everything else easily.
Weaknesses: No weaknesses.
Summary: I'm a one person household, and this disposer is perfect for me. It's reasonably quiet, takes up little space under the sink, and it makes very quick work of most food waste. Every once in a great while, if I try to run a LOT of waste through in a short time, the drain pipe outside the disposer outlet will get clogged. Clearing the clogged section of pipe is very easy, however, as removal of two screws from the disposer body permit fast removal of that section of drainpipe.
