Strengths: very slim and nice design. I try to connect my Sony digital camcorder to my laptop and edit with the software. It works pretty well. It fit to the laptop lover. It comes with very nice software.
Weaknesses: No power through USB, not like Sony model. I will not complain about this price. Similar model of Sony costs about $350. Nice service from the store I purchased, I will buy it again.
Summary: 2004-07-01 11:41:41 Very nice price and portable. I love it. It is pretty slim and tiny compared to the most ugly DVD external drive like Sony U510, and you can even put into your pocket. Because it is very portable, I will take it anywhere with my laptop and smallest sony digital camcorder.

Strengths: slim, light
Weaknesses: speed...would have liked faster than 2x for dvd-r, external power.
Summary: I got this for like $191 from buy.com...dunno why the price has gone up close to 400 on this item. The biggest drawback is having to use an external power source. But for $191 it was a very nice purchase and since it's slim and light I can carry it around almost anywhere I go with my laptop.

Strengths: Records DVD-RAM which in my opinion is much better than DVD+/-RW, very useful for data backup. Slim size is big plus.
Weaknesses: Old version software CD; Not come with blank disk; plastic body; not USB powered; Panasonic website support is poorly organized, not easy to find software/firmware update.
Summary: Price is falling because 667 comes out to market. 667 has all DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM. If you can find it at a good price, it is the product you won't regret.

Strengths: LFP567CU Size is real cool. Its real slim. It comes with all the necessary software. Panasonic backup software allows you to backup 4.5 Gb of data in about 2 hrs on DVD-RAM. For $99 its a winner.
Weaknesses: External power. One more power adaptor to carry around. Could have been faster than 2x but for its size and price its fine, I guess...
Summary: Looks neat and works as expected. I also likes the looks of it. Panasonic has bundled a whole lot of softwares for different purposes and installation is simple. Though it needs external power, its 110V/240V compatable so where ever I go, this burner goes with me.
