Well, at least it's returnable...
Strengths: Its diminutive size makes it a cinch for taking to the Refunds counter.
Weaknesses: Feels "cheap," doesn't hold enough water to steam an entire garment, inconvenient fill-up, the attachments are useless for clothes, the price
Summary: I'm an iron aficionado and have heard that Rowenta irons are rated highly, so, despite the price, I purchased this to see how it works against the regular iron I have that is being sold at half this iron's price.
This Rowenta is a piece of junk.
The "tank" is a minuscule reservoir that holds a shot glass worth of water, and sits in the handle of the iron and holds only a little bit more water than a cigarette lighter holds lighter fluid.
Take a look at a cigarette lighter, because that isn't much.
I had one shirt that I steamed, and I didn't even make it to the end before this cumbersome device ran out of steam. And they expect you to steam drapes with this? I could imagine them laughing at that notion, when they wrote the instructions that say precisely that. I would love to see the poor person having to do that, running to the sink 10 times to keep filling up the shot glass "tank."
The lint brush is useless, and will snag your garments when it encounters a button (and I imagine a sequin or applique for women's clothing), The plate is a little bigger than the outsole of a high-heel shoe, so if you want to heat up your heels and go ironing, you would most likely achieve the same results. All this with cheap materials and a confusing interface.
And the price tag: $40! What was I thinking? Such a disappointment. Save yourself a trip to the return counter - buy something else. I'm never buying a spuriously expensive Rowenta product again
