Unbeatable price/value ratio. Capable of high volume without distortion. Visually nice - fine styling. Remote control 'mouse.' Weaknesses: One output did not work when delivered; I called Staples and they send a replacement the next day that worked perfectly. Summary: Highly recommended. I got a great price (with free delivery) at Staples. The sound is excellent, and can be turned up quite high with no distortion (important for me, as I sometimes play along with certain computer music with my French horn). I am delighted with the handy 'mouse' remote control, which can control [control 'wheels'] on/off and volume separately for the subwoofer and L//R speakers, as well as providing a minijack input for headphones. The 'lack of tone controls' the other reviewer complained of is a nonissue to me - I have complete control using the Equalizer in iTunes - it would be a great disadvantage if the tone controls were only available on speakers. Weaknesses: Tone controls for the satellites would be helpful. Summary: I purchased these speakers from an office supply store after being blown away by the bass they reproduce. After I got them home, it didn't take long until my son "borrowed" them for his pc. This left me with the task of purchasing another set of speakers for myself. The a3640's made such an impression, I bought another pair!
