Description: This WD62927 62" digital TV has 16:9 widescreen, 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution, dual digital HDTV and analog tuners, digital cable ready with CableCARD, HDMI and FireWire (IEEE 1394) digital inputs, and MediaCommand, 5-slot, 9-format memory card reader. Mitsubishi's WD62927 has advanced digital processing and 1080p DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip to produce unsurpassed detail and exceptional picture quality. Several cutting-edge signal processing technologies help get the most out of this refined optical system. Mitsubishi uses a high speed video processor called Plush1080p that upconverts 1080i signals to 1080p producing four times the resolution of traditional line doublers. HDTVs can display any video signal. For a 1080p HDTV, even the high quality 720p and 1080i HDTV signals being broadcast need to be reformatted in order to fill the TV screen with a sharp, clear picture. Mitsubishi developed Plush1080 technology to do just this--with the highest quality possible. It scales the picture precisely, with minimal side effects. And 1080i, currently the most common form of HDTV signal, is spectacular at 1080p. The conversion is precise, resulting in previously unachievable detail and clarity. In short, Plush1080p technology makes everything else look better on a 1080p HDTV. Mitsubishi also makes it easy to view digital photos from nine of the most popular media card formats. Just plug a memory card into one of the five convenient slots and you're ready to go! MediaCommand Memory Card Reader can also play MP3 and WMA audio files.Don't have time to watch your favorite program when it airs? Not going to be home when your team plays? Because Mitsubishi knew that was going to happen, they built a 250 MB HDD (hard disc drive) DVR (digital video recorder) into the WD62927. You make the choice of watching it now or recording up to 25 hours of high definition programming for later. The internal DVR lets you record one program while you're watching a different program or input, or even pause and instantly replay live TV. Since this is a digital video recorder, you can digitally record both standard definition and high definition channels. You can digitally record analog channels with Dolby Digital processing for analog audio. You can digitally record and playback from FireWire (IEEE 1394) MPEG2 devices, and the WD62927 includes TV Guide On Screen with ChannelView that lets you schedule your recordings directly from the electronic program guide.Mitsubishi does even more to assure you of an always-perfect picture. Dark Detailer is a Mitsubishi exclusive technology that uses a dynamic aperture system to add depth and texture to the picture. Dark Detailer improves contrast ratio by more than four times, giving you a wide array of colors and shades that are essential for optimal viewing of dark, dramatic scenes while also providing maximum brightness. PerfectColor, another Mitsubishi exclusive, gives you the ability to adjust the intensity of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input. PerfectColor is a full-color matrix, much more powerful than a conventional color intensity control with red versus green color balance. DeepField Imager constantly adjusts brightness and contrast for optimum settings in all areas of the picture. It can even optimize complex scenes containing both dark and bright areas. DeepField Imager analyzes 135 sectors of the picture in real time. It determines the optimum blend of contrast and brightness settings within the picture using advanced Mitsubishi algorithms. Based on picture analysis, it dynamically adjusts for areas that are too high or low in contrast and/or too dark or bright displaying the best balanced picture in every scene. SharpEdge delivers clean, focused edges between objects and scene backgrounds. The result is exquisite picture clarity from any source in every scene. And the removable, anti-glare, high contrast Diamond Shield protects the screen while optimizing picture performance.Mitsubishi has eliminated the hassle and suspect picture quality associated with cable boxes. With their Digital Cable Ready (DCR) TVs and high definition tuner/controller, you can connect the cable directly from the wall to your TV--without going through a cable box--and receive all your cable channels, including premium channels. There are specific jacks on the back of the TV for connecting a VCR and a digital video recorder (D-VHS, VCR, or FireWire hard drive recorder), allowing you to record high definition programs and play them back with full image quality. DCR TVs have a slot on the back for a CableCARD, a device that descrambles subscribed channels. With the CableCARD, available from local cable TV companies, the TV's internal tuner can tune directly to the subscribed cable channels, eliminating the need for a box. When a digital cable TV channel is received on a DCR TV, it is decoded and remains a digital video signal all the way to the screen. Standard-definition digital channel signals are upconverted by the advanced processing capability of the WD62927, giving them near-HDTV picture quality. The resulting image has the best possible quality, with maximum bandwidth, and minimal noise and distortion.Your Mitsubishi WD62927 comes with subscription-free TV Guide On Screen, an easy-to-use, 8-day, on-screen, interactive, electronic program guide. To find a channel, simply press the guide button on the remote control. TV Guide On Screen makes it easy to sort through all the television listings to find your favorite channels. All of Mitsubishi's TVs with DCR include ChannelView, a system to display all of the channels in the TV's memory or authorized by CableCARD. This display will show the channel number, the channel name, the type of channel such as analog or digital, and the program title for digital channels that broadcast that information. If the digital channel also sends future program information, up to 12 hours of program information can be shown for that channel. ChannelView downloads the program information while the TV is turned off and will update information when you view that channel. All you need to do to record a program with the internal DVR, or a connected DVR/VCR, is select a program with ChannelView and the TV will tune to the proper channel at the proper time, send that signal to the recording device, and instruct it to begin recording. How easy is that?Yesterday's audio/video products have video inputs and outputs, and up to six audio inputs and outputs (for surround sound) connecting them. Even a modest system consisting of a television, surround sound receiver, cable or satellite box, VCR and DVD player requires a minimum of nine cables made up of 15 individual wires, and can be as many as 13 cables made up of 23 individual wires if all analog and digital connections are made. And that's not even counting speaker wires and antenna cables.Instead of multiple audio/video inputs and outputs once required for components like DVD players and cable and satellite boxes, HDMI connections and FireWire digital home networking technology eliminate all but one cable between each component. Mitsubishi has eliminated the confusion, poor quality, and unsightliness of yesterday's audio and video connections. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is an uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. It provides an interface between an audio/video source, like a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an A/V monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats. FireWire is a digital connection (also referred to as IEEE 1394 and i.LINK) that consolidates picture, sound, and control signals, eliminating all but one cable between A/V components. Each FireWire cable carries pristine digital video, crystal-clear digital surround sound audio, and control signals from unit to unit. Products can even be connected in sequence; and, as an added benefit, the control signal connections make the entire system easy to use. All Mitsubishi integrated HDTV and digital cable ready HDTV products feature Firewire networking connections. Plus, Mitsubishi has developed the electronic brains to take control of a digital home network and put it at your fingertips with an innovative system control called NetCommand. And for you gamers, there's an ultra-high resolution 1080p Media PC input for high definition multimedia applications.Using a basic home theater system used to be complicated to configure and operate, even with just basic components like a big-screen HDTV or monitor, a surround sound audio receiver, a DVD player, a cable box or digital satellite receiver, a digital video recorder, or a multimedia PC. These systems used to be complicated to use--until Mitsubishi created NetCommand home theater operation system. All Mitsubishi digital cable ready televisions include NetCommand with IR learning. This exclusive feature gives you a true one remote control home theater system. NetCommand is an on-screen system that blends control of IEEE 1394 digitally connected products and conventional IR analog connected products into a simple icon-based control system. NetCommand has a library of codes or can learn the IR codes from almost any IR-based analog component. Using only the TV's remote control, NetCommand enables you to control all components with simple on-screen icons--just by pushing a button. Minimize
