Read More Description: The E4g features high definition drivers with tuned port technology to deliver premium performance, ultrawide range audio complete with brilliant highs and extended bass. Optimized for compatibility with the Sony PSP and other portable entertainment devices, including many MP3, DVD, and CD players, the E4g earphones incorporate the same precision components utilized in the original E Series to bring incredibly accurate sound with remarkable isolation for the ultimate immersive gaming experience. The E4g's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes, even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries.Because every ear is different, these E4g earphones come with a pair of disposable foam sleeves, a pair of triple flange sleeves, three pairs (small, medium, large) of flex sleeves, and three pairs of soft flex sleeves (small, medium, large) to ensure the ideal personalized fit. The soft, flexible sleeves in the fit kit gently contour to the inside of your ear to create a comfortable, secure fit, so that the earphones don't fall out while you're exercising or moving around. Weighing only 1.1oz, the E4g earphones are lightweight and secure enough for any portable listening application. Minimize |

Strengths: solid quality in a tiny piece
Weaknesses: still lack of base
Summary: these are my first pair of earphones, been listening with my hd650 and hd580 for the last few years and finally got a chance to pick up these. they are extremely light weight and solid, not very comfortable when I first put them in, but I'm willing to trade that off with the details I'm getting!
well, the downside is still missing the kind bass I want, maybe that's because of the limit of their size.
all in all, an execllent pair of earphones, great for use on plane, too.

Strengths: sound quality is amazing
Weaknesses: expensive
Summary: the white ipod earphones died on me after 4 months of use (my second set), so i decided to get an after market one. after reading about shure products i was ready to buy the e2g, but i found e4g at a great price while searching for the e2g. i received the earphones last week and i'm truly amazed with the e4g. after trying several of the sleeves i found small soft flex sleeves fit me the best. they might come second after the foam sleeves in sound isolation but i found they are easier to insert and are reusable. now i listen to my ipod at less than half of the volume i used to listen. they are pretty comfortable too, enough that i fell asleep couple of times with them on. over all if you don't need skull numbing bass these earphones might be the ones for you. oh and make sure you don't pay full retail price of $299, if you look around a little bit, they can be yours for far less.

Strengths: great sound, and the ear plugs stay in my ear. i love the volumn control, especially when exercising
Weaknesses: Cord could be shorter as it gets in the way requiring me to loop it over my neck to prevent the weight of the cord from pulling the ear plugs from my ear
Summary: It is a great product, delivers as advertised. I have small ear canals and have never been able to use the ear bud type but these are perfect and the sound quality even at low volumns is great.

Strengths: Great Sound, Comfortable, Superior Noise/Sound Isolation
Weaknesses: Price
Summary: I know what you’re thinking, $300 for a set of ear buds, I must be nuts, right?
WRONG !!!
These are the best sounding, most comfortable headphones/earphones I have ever owned, and I have owned many and tried even more, including those expensive noise canceling headphones. I use Shure E4g’s when I travel (airplane), mowing the lawn, working out, you name it. They are comfortable and block more noise than any of the noise canceling headphones cancel. Because they fit in your ear canal and isolate ambient noise, you can and will listen at a much lower level than you are used to.
I find these to be very neutral sounding (this is a good thing). They do not have the over-amplified bass that the noise canceling models seem to have.
So, you get great sound, great noise isolation, AND you get to save your hearing for your golden years.
There is a trick to these, and it is simple, you MUST find the set if ear sleeves that fit you correctly. This is not difficult, as the Shure E4g comes with 8 different sets.
The E4g also comes with an inline attenuating accessory for use with high output sources (like the onboard sound in an airplane) and a set of soft rubber ear supports. The E4g’s slip into the ear supports and the cable tucks into the over the ear part. These are really slick and pliable. They are not hard plastic like many others and are easy to wear and help hold the cable over the ear. These only come with the Gaming Edition models.

Strengths: Solid frequency response. Superb sound clarity, and very efficient acoustic isolation from outside noise.
Weaknesses: some microphony occurs when the cable rubs against my shirt, but this is an intrinsic fault to all in-ear headphones.
Summary: overall, a very good product. I compared to the Etymotic Research 6i a friend had, and I find these Shure E4g sound more natural; additionally, the E4g feel more comfortable while wearing.
