Strengths: A genuine massage that you can take with you.
Weaknesses: Does not have heating option.
Summary: My wife fell in love with this device from the first minute she hit the power switch. The kneading function separates the HoMedics unit from cheaper ones. It's well made and easy to take with you. One improvement would be a heating element. Imagine the feeling of gentle heat while knotted muscles succumb to the pressure! Ah, well, maybe in next year's model. A great buy at around $100.

Strengths: Low noise; deeper massage than nearly all other competitors; lightweight and portable.
Weaknesses: No so far
Summary: I was quite surprise at how well this massager works (after testing it in the store). It goes well beyond the standard vibrating models. The rotating massagers give the strong feel of an actual hand "kneading."

Strengths: It is convenient. It is unlike other massenger where it stays stationary. This moves up and down the whole back. It definitely messages sore muscles well.
Weaknesses: Although it reaches the neck area, it doesn't work well there.
Summary: This is my first massager and I really enjoyed it. After work, I would lay on my chair and massage my back and shoulders. I like the convenience that I can move it to any chair.

Strengths: High qualiy deep tissure back massage, portable, and can be taken on trips.
Weaknesses: Not programmable, but for my average body size it seemed perfectly programmed right out of the box.
Summary: This is MUCH better than I thought it would be. Don't let the looks fool you. This is not your typical cheap Walmart-quality back massage cushion that doesn't feel like it's doing anything. This is actually a VERY nice deep tissure massage. Dare I say it's almost as intense as those $3,000 Shiatsu chairs you see in Sharper Image (if you remove the cover) but of course it doesn't have nearly the features. Then again, with those chairs a lot of your money is going to the genuine leather and the fact it is a full size recliner, whereas this is just a cushion. Also, this cushion is not programmable like those recliners are, but I don't have $3,000 to spare. I wish it hit other areas, but the areas it does hit (low, middle, upper back) it does great. I'll tell you what, I'd take this over those $800 I-Joy chairs (boy are those akward to sit on).

For under $100, this is a GREAT product. Thanks homedics for finally making a respectable massage product that is actually affordable.

Strengths: Deep kneading massage, easy use, suitable for any kind of chairs.
Weaknesses: It would be better if it could focus on the waist and shoulder.
Summary: What a wonderful product! Once I tried it in a department store, I loved it right away. Unlike those vibrating cushion, it does the same thing on your back as a real massage. Now you can get a massage at any time if you want.

Strengths: feels likes a real massage.
Weaknesses: manufacturer's brochure said leaving on for more than 15 minutes might cause fire
Summary: This massager is great! It actually feels like a real massage, with someone's fingers kneading into your back. It's unlike other massagers because it doesn't vibrates but kneads instead. The vibrating ones doesn't have any effect but this one sure does. Must buy! Best massager I've ever had.

2 Star ReviewAll the mechanical parts are plastic and mine brok ...
Strengths: A nice massage and worked well but not very durable.
Weaknesses: Massager made of cheap plastic and will break easily. Mine broke one day even though I was not using it while leaning on the back. Not a good design.
Summary: All the mechanical parts are plastic and mine broke in less than 4 months. I have it on my computer chair and one day while just sitting on the massager something in the back popped and now it is a piece of junk which will not work again. Poor plastic construction. Beware..

Strengths: This shiatsu massager is very afforable.
Weaknesses: Depending on your height, it may or may not reach the upper or lower back for you. My husband is 6'4", and he says it stops just short of his shoulders. I am 5'3", and it works fine.
Summary: Sometime the massage is "too" powerful and it would have been a nice feature to have an adjustment for the strength of shiatsu massage.

Strengths: Durable; good quality; easy to assemble and use.
Weaknesses: No heat; can't keep massage on one specific area.
Summary: This is a great massage seat. I've tried others before but none have the moving Shiatsu mechanism which really works well. Like having a personal massage therapist whenever you need one. Only down side is that the setting for "lower back" actually runs from the bottom of your back to the mid part of the back. I'd prefer it would stay stantionary at various points of the back, but that's just a personal preference. Overall, this is a great product.

Strengths: Powerful motors, sleek design
Weaknesses: None noted
Summary: I fell in love with this device! The strength and deepness of the massage surprised me. Shiatsu fingers deeply massage stressed, overworked muscles to release knots and tension. Excellent!!

Strengths: The Shiatsu Back Massager cushion is very portable and light.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This massager cushion really work. I like the way is it very light in the weight and is portable to take from chair to chair. I like to use it until I fell asleep because the auto cut off system will cut off the power. I will recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a good Shiatsu Back Massager.

Strengths: Powerful deeper massage than others.
Weaknesses: Very BIG power adapter.
Summary: This is the most inexpensive Shiatsu Massaging Cushion that makes me feel relaxed. I've tried those vibration ones but none was as good as this one. The only thing I want to complain is it has no heating feature. Overall a very good massage cushion. If you want a real massage. get this one.

Strengths: Very nice message through out the back and up to the neck.
Weaknesses: The nexk portion is not very effective.
Summary: This massager is great. It feels more like a real massage then most of the available massagers available out there. It is also very convinient as it can be put on any chair. I use it on my computer chair while I am using the computer and on my ottoman while I watch tv.

Strengths: Easy to use, different modes for different areas of back, portable and lightweight, does what it says it will do.
Weaknesses: could be longer for people around 6 foot. Would like some kneading in the shoulder blade area too, not just the center of the back.
Summary: I've used massage mats before, but never really received a good massage till now. Massage mats keep getting better and better and this one is one of the best right now for the price. It definitely pushes the knots out of your back and helps you relax. And with its 3 modes, you can isolate the top of your back or the bottom or just get a quick massage.

I like the demo mode, it goes all the way up and then all the way down and automatically shuts off. A nice quick massage after coming home from work and not having to remember to turn it off.

It does the job and it does it well.

Strengths: Like having a massage theripist in your chair for free.
Weaknesses: not a single one
Summary: This thing is awesome, I have sat in this thing at the pharmacy while waiting for prescriptions, when they were ready, I didnt want to get up. I just bought mine off ebay for half the cost and I am telling you ,this is something you cannot live without for a couple of reasons. sore back and stress. I plugged this in let it run its course and I feel like a new person.
