Strengths: Burns to spec and recognizes all disc formats. Very quiet.
Weaknesses: No firmware updates appear to be available (yet). Could be a limiting factor as media speeds advance.
Summary: This recorder does it all. Great burns at 4X for DVD+R Dual Layer. This drive is so quiet, you don't even know the drive is operating. None of the usual spin up to speed whirlybird sounds. Does -R, +R Single Layers great as well. Burns 16x Verbatim discs at that speed. However, note that the burn speeds don't start that fast but ramp up and end at 16x. Average is around 12x.

Haven't tried DVD-RAM (yet), nor the LightScribe feature. I've got the discs and will try them soon and report further!
