Strengths: Everything
Weaknesses: Nothing
Summary: Alright, lets face it. Movie games typically suck. Although this one was actually pretty good. Sound is phonominal (especially when you have 5.1 surround sound). Graphics are good. Some tiny visual upgrades for the next gen version, but not much. Theres around forty levels, but each one takes around 5 minutes to beat. some require just running to a certain spot. You get all the gamerscore for beating the game. Also, there are some bonuses to unlock for beating the game twice, but nothing special. If your looking for some cheap thrills, or an easy 100 gamerscore, this is the game, but rent instead of buying it

Strengths: excellent sound and graphics, good controls, interesting storyline
Weaknesses: short gameplay with Kong, and overall short story
Summary: Excellent buy that's woth every penny. This will definitely be one of the best games of its kind. The movie was record smashing, and no doubt the game will probably be!

3 Star ReviewPeter Jackson's King Kong The Official Game Of The Movie (360)
Strengths: Graphics, Sound, Kong game play
Weaknesses: Story, Repetitive game play, short
Summary: Though this is by far a decent Kong game it definitely could have been beefed up from its movie counter part. The game tries to follow as close as possible to the movie and maybe they should have followed it to the tee. Their are slight differences between the movie and the game and this is what hurts the game as a whole. The slight differences in storyline between the movie and game really make this a rental.

2 Star ReviewPeter Jackson's King Kong The Official Game Of The Movie (XB360)
Strengths: (1) An interesting take on a movie tie-in, more successful than other licensed movies (2) An older game which can be had a low cost
Weaknesses: (1) Graphics lack detail which makes navigation somewhat difficult (2) Low framerate which makes for rough turning and causes me to feel a bit sick!
Summary: Peter Jackson's King Kong for XBOX 360 is, undoubtedly, the best console version of the game. It offers decent graphics for its time, as the game launched with the XBOX 360. The way the game ties into the movie is mostly successful, however, it is a very short game, with little reason to experience it past the first play through. I also found the first-person viewpoint to be a bit claustrophobic and the low frame rate stutters when turning, which makes me feel sick after much time with the game. The dinosaur hunting was by far the most exciting and fun part of the game. Overall, I did not find the movie to provide much inspirational material and although Ubisoft managed to create a decent distraction from it, this is not a game I would spend more than a casual weekend with.

Strengths: Excellent graphics. Mix of gameplay. Sound and music.
Weaknesses: Short, very little replay value.
Summary: While King Kong was one of the early games for the Xbox 360, it still stands strong in several departments. The graphics are well above average, as well are the sound effects. The gameplay is mixed up between first person shooter and third person adventure styles.

However, being that it is closely based upon the events of movie, it is rather short. I personally beat it in two sessions of only a few hours each. Bonus unlockable features are rather sparse.

One plus side to it being short and limited is that anyone looking for a quick boost in their gamerscore will earn the full 1000 by playing the game from start to finish. No need for silly/near impossible tasks in this game. But unfortunately, this is offset by greatly hurting the replay value.

For the current price, this game is a bargain.

Strengths: Looks and sounds wonderfull. Great graphix!! Good for some quick gamer points
Weaknesses: Weak gameplay and too short. No replayability and no online. Few glitches.
Summary: This game is worth the low cost but not much more. May just want to rent it. Once you played it you will be done with it. Wish they would of put more effort in making it a longer game. Just like to other consoles versions, just with tweaked graphics. But hey it is a movie title and these are never the Best.

Strengths: Nice supplement to the movie; provides a quick and easy way to fluff up your gamerscore
Weaknesses: Little replay value; gameplay and certain elements of the presentation aren't up to next-gen standards
Summary: 2007-02-14 05:41:28 As an Xbox 360 launch title, Peter Jackson's King Kong served its purpose: It sucked gamers in with gorgeous graphics and provided some great (if short-lived) gameplay thrills. However, because the game was developed for multiple platforms, the Xbox 360 version wasn't all it could have been. Although the graphics were given the next-gen treatment (and even they exhibited rough spots), the gameplay didn't make the same dramatic leap. Still, it's a fun ride while it lasts, and for less than $20, it's one worth taking.

Strengths: Good graphics and sound, easy to get achievements, great gameplay
Weaknesses: No replay value, short game length
Summary: 2007-05-24 21:32:02 King Kong is a videogame adaptation of the recent movie remake. Most of the game is done from the first-person perspective as Jack, with the ending gameplay as King Kong. The action is done well, if a little simple. The game looks great and sounds very impressive, though once the short length is done with, there's no reason to play it again, save collecting all the game's achievements. As the game's now down to bargain pricing, it's worth picking up.

Strengths: GRAPHICS, FREEDOM OF CONTROL
Weaknesses: SHORTNESS OF GAME
Summary: THIS GAME REALLY PACKS A PUNCH IN THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME THAT YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT. REALLY ALOT OF FUN WITH THIS FPS AND THE GRAPHICS ARE TOP NOTCH FOR A 1ST GEBERATION RELEASE ON THE XBOX 360. THE STORY RUNS PRETTY CLOSE TO THE MOVIE AND REALLY EXCITING TO PLAY AS KONG. WORTH GETTING TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!

3 Star ReviewKing Kong
Strengths: Story line
Weaknesses: Dizzy camera and first person view
Summary: King Kong has an interesting story and game play. For example, you can throw bones and spears to kill dinosaurs. In addition, it's relatively an easy game, so you can rapidly increase your gamer score with it.

However, my major gripe is the first person camera. Often I cannot find my way out of the trails alongside some mountain rocks – every direction looks the same. So I quickly get dizzy. They should project the first person view a bit further (i.e. being able to see more so you know where is where). In addition, it's too dark for me, and there is no way to change the brightness setting.

Strengths: Excellent graphics and atmosphere, makes you feel like you're right there on skull island. Great control and gameplay altogether. One of the best movie licensed games ever.
Weaknesses: Too short and not a lot of variety in the whole game. Once you're done, you're done, no real reason to play again or even boot up the game.
Summary: I loved the Peter Jackson remake movie so I thought this game would be a no brainer buy. I bought it and was extremely pleased with how fun this game was and how close to being actually in the movie this game made it. I was really impressed with the lighting and sound of the xbox 360 version. Definitely a game to be played with a surround sound setup and high definition tv set. The graphics look excellent and does the job right of transporting the player to skull island and making it feel like you're actually alongside the characters. Turn down the lights and turn up the sound, this game will have you pulled in and running for your life from the T-Rex. Just don't expect too much after you're done, there isn't a lot of reason to go back to the game besides just experiencing it again. Great value if you can find it for cheap.

Strengths: Great gameplay and controls. A lot of fun and a fairly easy way to get 1000 achievement points on the 360.
Weaknesses: Graphics look not quite next gen. Slow load times between levels.
Summary: I have really enjoyed this game. It was a fun adventure which my family and I got our money's worth. It does look like a launch title, but I truly feel that graphics are not everything when it comes to games. I've seen some very flashy games that have horrible gameplay. This is not one of those games.

3 Star ReviewAn Interesting, But Flawed Adventure
Strengths: +The settings and Kong look great +Wonderful sound design (especially with great speakers) +Game can be intense and entertaining
Weaknesses: -Very simplistic puzzles -Linear story/gameplay progression
Summary: King Kong arrived in stores similar to hundreds of other games trying to cash-in on the success of the movie it is based on. The difference is, this game was designed by the masters at Ubisoft behind the great Rayman adventures. The game itself looks like its XBox brother with a somewhat new coat of polish. The soundtrack and effects really immerses the player in the world. The problem is that the game is short, simple, and very linear. It is worth a rental, but not much more.
