Strengths: Spectacular picture quality, amount/type of inputs, abilty to PIP or side-by-side HD and/or normal broadcasts simultaneously, the "everything included" packaging.
Weaknesses: PIP Limitations, interface is sometimes non-intuitive, upconverting of low-def images could be better, manuals are poorly written/translated (at some points even lacking full English sentences).
Summary: After reading the earlier reviews here and other places and looking into many other models (deciding this one seemed to be the best "bang for the buck") I purchased this TV, and I wanted to add a review that presented the downsides of this TV as well as its upsides.
I agree with everyone else that the picture quality is phenomenal when you're viewing HD programs or well-encoded DVD's at 480p... But that the way that this TV upconverts normal low-def signals/VHS tapes, etc. produces a lower quality than I've seen from many other models of HD sets. I end up watching a lot of low-def things split screened just so there's less pixels per picture and therefore less evident video artifacting.
On a model in this price range with two tuners and numerous inputs, I would expext a very good PIP system. It's got its good side (unlike a lot of other HD's, you can combine any combination of HD/non-HD images seamlessly), but unfortunately has its bad as well. For example, it takes 3 button hits to "swap" the large and the small PIP screen, and when in the PIP mode the picture cannot be moved from the lower right hand corner. (Hope you don't want to use PIP and know the score of the basketball game you're watching at the same time!) My old $379 Sharp CRT TV did a MUCH better job swapping and locating the PIP image, and in a TV at this price it just seems like the manufacturer cut corners implementing this function.
Similarly, the remote control isn't as intuitive as it could be, and you feel like the way of changing screen formats (from 4:3 to full screen, for example) could have been implemented better.
You do find youself forgiving all of its faults when you turn to an HD channel, though (not to mention watching programs you're not really interested in because of the picture quality.) Much as I would like better controls (especially with the split screen/PIP), I'll take tat as a trade-off for the brightness and clarity that this set produces.
