Strengths: compact size, pleasant and functional design
Weaknesses: a bit too large
Summary: I bought this External 60GB Hard Drive (USB 2.0, 5,400 RPM, 2MB) recently and so far I am very satisfied with its performance. It is relatively fast, perforated enclosure sides help keep hard drive's temperature low. Two rubber strips on the buttom help to reduce the vibration. The colors are pleasant to my taste. What I did not like is the size - it is a bit too bulky.

Strengths: Fast, and wide compatible
Weaknesses: Lacking of a carrying case
Summary: I bought this product few days ago. Although there are only few reviews about it, most of them are pretty positive. Also because it’s on sale at Circuit city, I decided to try it. To my surprise, this little thing is amazing! It can work with both PC and Mac, just like what they say in the ads. Both systems can easily pick it up. I have a old HP laptop with Windows ME, it also can recognize this drive right away. When you work with USB 2.0 port, the transfer rate is more than 1GB per min. In a word, so far, I am pretty happy with my purchase of this portable hard drive.

Strengths: small size and easy to set up
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: This hard dive amazed me the first time I used it. It is very easy to set up to your computer. It is also compatible with both Windows and Mac, which is very good. Another good thing is that it has USB 2.0 interface which enhances the transfer rate for the drive. As soon as I plug this drive in, my laptop recognizes it right away. Overall, I am very happy with drive.

Strengths: No AC needed. It is easy to carry. Good design for heat dissipation.
Weaknesses: It is a litte big than it shows in the internet.
Summary: I use this portable hard drive to backup my notebook and store the files between the office and home. I like it, not only for the best design also for the reliability. Compared the old 3.5" external hard drive, there is no extra power needed.

Strengths: Small, very portable, compact, extremely durable, preformatted, no AC adapter needed, bright steady blue light when on.
Weaknesses: No outstanding faults. There are two USB connectors both of different colored leads. No explanation which lead needs to be plugged in first.
Summary: If there is insufficient power using only one lead, the blue light on the hard drive case will be flashing. That is a warning that both USB leads need to be plugged in to provide sufficient power. I like this unit very much. Well done Seagate! Definitely has been very useful for me in transporting large video files etc. Very fast despite only being 5400RPM. Also very quiet.

Strengths: Does not need AC power adapter, quiet, good heat dissipation
Weaknesses: No carrying case included. Size can be smaller
Summary: I bought this for backing up files as well as for transfering large files between computers (desktops and laptop). It has pretty much work to my satisfation with reasonable quiet operation and fast file copying. The unit is very portable, particularly when it does not need an AC power adapter but it could be better (i.e. more portable) if it is smaller and lighter and/or comes with a carrying case. Its casing with perforated sides seem to help sufficiently in dissipating heat. Truly plug and play with USB2.0. Overall I find it meeting my needs and am satisfied with it.

Strengths: Easy to use; quick/silent while transferring files; doesn't require a power cord.
Weaknesses: Doesn't have synchronization function and is relatively large for easy carrying.
Summary: The portable external hardrive by Seagate is easy to use -- it is almost like a large flash drive with 60GB of space. The product seems reliable; my only small complaint is that it doesn't have a synchronization function like the Maxtor mini one touch, which means that any modifications of my laptop files I will need to keep track of and resave them on to the external drive. All in all, I'm very satisfied with its performance.

Strengths: No AC adapter needed, relatively small, quiet
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This is a great drive for backing up files or just extra storage space. The design is nice looking without being over the top. I really like that it doesn't need an AC adapter and is powered by USB. Also, it's pretty quick for being 5400rpm.

Strengths: Reliable, fast, small
Weaknesses: None
Summary: You can find many glowing comments on this drive and the brand name was the main feactor that I chose this product over some non-brand cheapo. People complained that it has proprietary cable which has two connectors. However, if you take a good care of it, I don't see this as a major issue. The fact that I don't need a power adapter saves me a lot. Very satisfied.

Strengths: Fast, quiet, solid build, great air flow
Weaknesses: Too big (much bigger than other slim 2.5 external hard drive), which make it harder to carry it in the pocket. No carry bag to protect the drive.
Summary: The drive looks pretty good and runs fast. But it is too big for my wife that does not like the size. Also, this design is totally for man, but not for woman. One slight advantage over WD drives is that the drive has screws exposed. If you can find the right tool, you may be able to open and replace it with bigger notebook drives. Overall, I feel like it.

Strengths: Very compact, could be carried easily No external power supply required Plug and play unit
Weaknesses: At times, it needs two USB ports to operate. If you don't have 2 ports available, the drive might not get enough power to run. Warranty could have been more
Summary: I bought this product few days ago. I was very pleased with this plug and play unit. There was no software to install ( I am an XP user) and as soon as I plugged it in to get started, my system immediately recognized it. When you work with USB 2.0 port, the transfer rate is more than 1GB per min. This external hard drive comes in very handy, no need to back up large files on CD's or DVD's this compact unit does it all.
