Canon BP208 Battery Pack

A good and reliable battery

Summary: I've used Canon batteries and other equivalent batteries for my digital camera. The original Canon ones perform noticeably better than those equivalent ones. So this time I decide to buy Canon brand BP208 for my Optura S1 camcorder, although it's quite pricey. It costs me about $50 while some equivalent batteries are only $15~$20. But I noticed that those cheap batteries were 7.2v but the Canon battery is 7.4v.

The battery performs as good as the original one which comes with the camcorder. It stays fairly cool runs without any problem. I'm happy with it in all aspects.

I would recommend that you buy this battery and not a equivalent from some unknown manufacturers. It's worth the extra money. At least you don't have worry about the possibility of your machine being damaged by a cheap battery.

I would probably have given a 5 star rating if it's not that expensive. But since you don't have any good options other than Canon OEM, I give it overall 4 star rating.

battery bp-208 for canon camcorder

Weaknesses: does not fit the canon camcorder, one side of battery is too big to insert into the machine

Summary: I bought this battery this week, it arrives in four days. however, the battery is not the one the advertisement said, i.e., canon bp-208, although it is printed as bp208 battery pack, no canon in the brand. after I open the plastic bag and want to test it, it realized that this battery cannot put into my camcorder, when I check the difference, I find that this battery and my original battery looks almost the same, except one part that will be used to recharge is too large to fit in the joint, so I cannot use it. This is something that anyone wants to buy from internet should be aware of, if I bought this one from store, I can return it if it does not fit the machine, however, I have the problem to change it.

so I suggest not to buy this item from this seller.

Good choice

Summary: This battery performs as good as the original one which came with my Elura 100 digital video camcorder. My favorite feature is that it's rechargeable, which saves you a lot of money in the long run. I would recommend having an extra charged battery on hand, so you are never unprepared to capture those perfect memories!
