Be sure you're okay with this trade-off before you buy. Summary: When ordering this device, I was a little thrown off by all the jargon. My Xbox's HD-VGA cable claimed it outputs 5.1 surround, not just digital stereo. But considering all that's coming out of that cable is 2 RCA plugs, I had my doubts. At first I thought this Console Adaptor would get me surround sound out of my Xbox, but then I read the description more carefully. It says it "connects" your game console to a 5.1 Speaker System. And that it does, but it doesn't give you Surround sound, for that, you'll need something like Creative's DDTS-100. If all you want is to get digital stereo out of your 5 speakers, then this unit is great for you. If you want digital surround, keep shopping. 100% of People (9/9) found this review helpful. It's compact, color-coded, and light so it doesn't strain the cables connected to it. Weaknesses: None. Summary: 2006-01-27 12:09:16 Very simple little unit. It does what it's supposed to do and does it perfectly. I'm using it to connect my Logitech X-530 speaker system to my Xbox.
