Strengths: Nice surround sound, sharp looks, long rear channel speaker wires (16.5 ft.) can be lengthened with speaker wire.
Weaknesses: Sound not as full as more expensive speakers but that should be a given, center speaker is not horizontal.
Summary: 2005-06-14 19:27:17 I currently have my speakers set up with a Soundblaster Audigy 2 value sound card and I am truly pleased. If you want to get all you can out of these speakers I suggest having a sound card with 5.1 capability. This my first set of 5.1 speakers and I am enjoying the surround sound.
The speakers have three wires for input (front channels, rear channel and sub). They have a wired remote that controls total volume and sub volume. You can't adjust the individual speaker volumes without extra software. The creative software that comes with their 5.1 sound cards allows for individual adjustment of speaker volumes though. The speakers are easily mounted to the wall with a single nail from which they can hang.
The sound from these speakers is not in the category of a set I owned in the past (Klipsch Promedia 2.1) but it is way more than satisfactory! I have had them blasting music everytime I have had a chance since I got them. I use them mainly for music, DVD watching, and TV so I can't comment on gaming sound. I generally keep the bass pretty low because I live in an apartment but if you wanted to you could really piss off your neighbors, this sub has pretty good kick.
Center channel speaker looks same as other two front. It would be nice if it had a horizontal orientation. You can lay it on its side but the CREATIVE logo can't be moved so that would be sideways. I think creative fixed this complaint with the Inspire T5900 (T5400 replacement?) but I could not find that for US purchase. Keep your eyes open for that set if you would prefer a horizontal center channel.
Overall, great surround sound, easy set up and mounting, handy wired remote, essential long rear channel wires and cheap price make these speakers a great buy. I am really happy with them and with a small budget these speakers give you a great bang for you buck.

Strengths: excellent bass . small in size, easy to setup

Summary: easy to setup easy to use . very happy with product. turning up the bass will vibrate pictures on wall. these speakers come with stands or you can hang them on the wall.the bass module sits on the floor. GREAT SPEAKERS.

Strengths: sound quality, ease of setup, and looks
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: This speaker system was very easy to setup, it took me about 10 minutes to set up. i started listening to music with them and realized only 2 out of the 5 speakers were playing. still the sound quality was incredible for the price, i cant wait for my new sound card to arrive to enjoy the full 5 speaker effect.

Summary: One of the best speaker system I have ever had.
Very nice color and beautiful design.
I enjoyed a lot to play doom 3 and half life 2.
The walls didnt move but my heart actually did!!!

Strengths: Crystal, crisp sounds from such a small compact speaker package.
Weaknesses: Volume control is too sensitive.
Summary: Bought these speakers from Buy.com for $58 to complement my new high-end custom computer. They're matched with a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer sound card. I recently played Counter-Strike Source with them and what an experience! Everything that came out of these speakers - gunfire, explosions, voices - sounded great. Movies and music also sounded spectacular. The only "problem" is the sensitive volume control. Be careful, a quarter turn on the knob will blow out your eardrums.

Strengths: Great PC game system
Weaknesses: Not easy to balance the surround speaker.
Summary: 2004-09-04 20:55:58 I bought T5400 to replace creative inspire GD580. (See my review on GD580). It's one of the best PC game systems I have ever had. It gives you crystal clear sound at an affordable price. I have a chance to compare it with megawork 510. I didn't notice any difference in sound quality but it don't have as much power as megaworks has. But I live in a apartment, it's good that it won't drive my neighbour crazy. The downside is that there is no way to balance the surround speaker from it wire control. You have to do it with software application.

Strengths: Independent bass control, headphone jack
Weaknesses: Surround sound not easy to set up, have to mess with graphic equalizer too much
Summary: This is a good set of speakers. However, they sound tinny and high on the treble until I adjust them with the graphic equalizer. It takes a while to adjust them until they sound just right.

 Well, what can i say? This is good for only $52 in ... Strengths: 5.1 sound experience.
Weaknesses: I prefer that the controls are integrated with the center speaker to minimize wire clutter. And, should be on it's side.
Summary: Well, what can i say? This is good for only $52 including tax after rebates and special coupon. I agree with the first reviewer that this is not for the music-discerning-ears. But great for EAX-enabled games and DVD movies paired to my 2-month old Blaster Live 5.1 card. Maybe a year from now - it's gonna be GigaWorks 7.1 and Audigy2 ZS Pro.

For the record I have always liked Creative gear, ...
Strengths: Price, Size and Looks
Weaknesses: sound quality for music, sub is too boomy and it doesnt have a Digital in.
Summary: For the record I have always liked Creative gear, however I have only bought their sound cards, this is my first speaker purchase. For a gamer or movie watchers, these little speakers are great! They have a perfect size, and they have a good range. But for a decerning ear, these are not for music. I also think that the center should be more like a center and not another speaker. (You know lays on it side and is wider than tall)
Creative is on its way, but no where near where they should be.
I was truely hoping that the age old expression "You get what you pay for" wouldn't apply here, but it does. : (

Strengths: The speakers are easy to install. The 2-way front and center speaker design produces very clear sound. The subwoofer is powerful. The wired remote control has convenient functions.
Weaknesses: The center speaker was unstable on top of the monitor. It may be necessary to secure it with tape or velcro.
Summary: I stongly recommend this speaker system. The quality of the individual components is very good. The sound produced is amazing. They are perfect for movie and music listening. I bought them from Hyper Microsystems on sale for $45 + S&H, a great price. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
