Strengths: An amazing bargain. Laptops is running both XP Pro and Linux. Very nice screen.
Weaknesses: none at this time
Summary: I was really looking for a Toshiba Portege of which I have had favorable results with in the past. The Averatec 3150hw at 600 less and only lacking a SD card slot and centrino processor caught my eye. I figured if it is not up to par my wife can use it or it becomes a shop machine. the little puter works well and has even done well dual-booting between XP Pro and Linux. At this time I am very glad to have saved the money. At this price having it beat around in the car and my backpack is not very stressful.

Strengths: What an incredible little computer at a true bargain price.
Weaknesses: An extra NIC card slot would be nice but 3 built in USB 2's make you hardly miss the old card slot.
Summary: 2005-07-11 23:47:25 This laptop is a true portable. It weighs about four pounds has built in wireless and a great AMD processor. It is so perfect for travel that it's unreal. I have owned (and still own) five other laptops that cost two to three times as much and they are just no fun to travel with. The 3150 is great on airplanes... the 10" screen makes it fit great on tray tables and the built in CDRW/DVD drive means you don't need to carry an 'outboard; unit like many of the mini laptops require. I LOVE this computer.

1 Star ReviewSUCKS!!!!!!!!
Strengths: portable
Weaknesses: It gets really hot ... and STARTS ON FIRE!!!!!
Summary: and then averatec doesnt stand behind their product and they BLOW YOU OFF!!!!!!!!!!! I have to buy another computer within a year I got this one it is ridiculous! I am very unhappy with this product. ya, it is a good price but compared to your house setting on fire I would rather pay more for a computer that keeps me safe and lasts longer than a year!
