 I am very disappointed with this unit Strengths: Can be programmed to make coffee at specific time, can make espresso even while drip is brewing.
Weaknesses: Filter door is cheesy construction, practically falling off. Can't close it with pot in place. Warmer shuts off very quickly. Only 10 cup instead of 12. Funky controls.
Summary: This seemed like a nice unit when we ordered, however now that we have it there are a number of disappointing issues.
First, the quality of the filter door is the biggest flaw. It feels like it will break off its crummy plastic hinges at any moment. You can't close it if you put the pot in place first, you have to close the filter then put the pot in. It hangs at a weird broken angle when open.
Next, the warmer function shuts off way too soon. I think it may be 90 minutes, maybe even 60. I like to make a pot and sip coffee all morning. If I make coffee at 9, by 11 am it is ice cold.
The pot is also too small for me, I wasn't paying attention and got stuck with a 10 cup vs. a 12 cup. Now my wife and I can only drink 1 (big) cup each before needing to make another pot.
The controls are bizarre, there is a push button to switch between 3 and 10 cups, and you end up needing to push Start 3 times to actually just start it.
Overall I expected WAY better quality for the money I paid for this, including options for 90min/2/3/5 hrs on the warmer shutoff, better construction, more straightforward DIGITAL controls instead of 1/2 digital 1/2 switches.
